Madrid International Airport- Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport If you are flying from Chicago, there are regular direct flights on American and Iberia airlines. If you are comfortable with a layover, TAP often has the cheapest flights flying through Lisbon. The link below is how we find flights for cheap and even allows you to track prices. You should be able to find direct flights from Chicago for around $700-$900 if you keep an eye out.
Travel Note
The welcome party will be in Plaza Mayor and the bus pickup for the wedding will be at the Four Seasons Hotel in Madrid. An AirBnb or hotel anywhere near either of those two places should be great. If you are staying in an AirBnB please make sure it is licensed. Spain is cracking down on unlicensed rental apartments. Travel Note
-Ubers and taxis are available in the city. You can take either when you arrive at the airport to get to your Airbnb or hotel. It's about a 25 minute drive. -They have a great train system once you get into the city. Take advantage of this because Ubers and taxis can be difficult to order because many of the streets downtown are only for pedestrians. -It is best not to rent a car. There's a lot of traffic and many under ground tunnels where you lose signal and have no idea where you're going. There are also a lot of pedestrian only streets in Centro.
