Head down Wisconsin Avenue toward the river — you’ll find entrances to the RiverWalk near the corner of Water Street and Wisconsin Avenue. Once you’re on the RiverWalk: 👉 Turn Right (South): You’ll head toward the Historic Third Ward, one of Milwaukee’s most popular neighborhoods for shopping, art galleries, and restaurants. You’ll find spots like The Wicked Hop, Café Benelux, and Milwaukee Public Market within a 10-minute walk. 👈 Turn Left (North): Follow the path toward Old World Third Street, where you’ll find local breweries, bars, and restaurants such as Mader’s, The Harp, Lakefront Brewery, and Good City Brewing. This stretch has lots of outdoor patios and a lively evening atmosphere.
Rent a kayak or paddleboard from places like Milwaukee Kayak Company (318 S Water St., Milwaukee) — open daily for rentals and guided tours. Another option: Brew City Kayak — self-guided rental is very accessible. (brewcitykayak.com) The city’s urban water trail covers the Milwaukee, Menomonee and Kinnickinnic Rivers and has multiple access points. Great way to experience the city from the water.
