FAQs

Question

Do I need to rent a car?

Answer

No. Especially if you stay in Little Tokyo, you can fill your weekend in Los Angeles with walkable, traffic-free entertainment. Also, rideshare is abundant in Los Angeles. If you do bring a car, our wedding venue will have a valet. Keep in mind that hotels in downtown LA typically charge about $50/day for parking.

Question

Can I walk from Little Tokyo to the venue?

Answer

It depends. It is a ten-minute, 0.4-mile walk from the Miyako hotel to our venue. But the walk will take you through an area that has been seriously affected by the city's homelessness crisis. We thus recommend that even city slickers consider rideshare. If you elect to walk, we recommend this route: Walk east on 1st or 2nd street to S Central Ave. Continue south on S Central Ave to Towne Ave. Take a slight right onto Towne and walk south one block to the venue.

Question

What airport should I fly into?

Answer

If you can, we recommend you fly into Burbank. It is closer to the venue, much easier to navigate, and a generally adorable airport. With that said, if your two options are a nonstop to LAX or a one-stop flight to Burbank, those will probably end up taking about the same amount of time. We do not recommend flying to Long Beach, Santa Ana, or Ontario.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes. Please let us know of any food allergies you have as soon as you can, especially if your allergies affect the foods that can be safely served to those sitting around you. Dinner at the wedding will be served family style and will include vegan and gluten-free options.

Question

Can I Stay Anywhere in LA?

Answer

LA is a huge city. Check how long your drive to the wedding will be, with traffic, before you book an AirBnB or stay with a friend “in LA.”

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

In LA in March, the average high is 70, the average low is 52, and it rains a few days of the month. Our wedding will be largely indoors, but weather permitting we will open up the roof to let in a fresh breeze. If you tend to get cold, you may want an extra layer.
