What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony begins promptly at 1:00 PM. Guests are asked to arrive 15-30 minutes early. Please plan accordingly.

Question

Will there be a shuttle?

Answer

There will be a shuttle transporting guests to and from the Hilton Madison Monona Terrace hotel to the ceremony and reception locations. Note that while the shuttle is available for all guests, capacity is limited to 12 passengers. Thus, we respectfully ask all able bodied guests to be aware of the elderly, disabled, and families with small children who will be needing transportation the most. Thank you.

Is there parking?

Answer

Both the reception and ceremony are within walking distance of the hotels. However, if you prefer to drive, St. Patrick's has construction going on currently. Visitors should enter via E. Washington to Butler. The parking lot is located just west, across the street from the church. The reception has plenty of parking.

Are there any cultural traditions guests should be aware of?

Answer

The ceremony will consist of a traditional Catholic mass. As Catholics, we joyfully welcome people of all faiths and backgrounds to attend our liturgy and participate in our worship, but there are a few guidelines that might be helpful for a visitor to be conscious of. If you are not Catholic, please do not receive Communion. During Holy Communion, you have the option to stay kneeling in your pew or are welcome to come forward and receive a blessing. To do this, cross your arms over your chest so that the priest will know not to give you Communion.

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will be indoors. Cocktail hour and the reception will take place in an indoor/outdoor space. It is possible that guests may walk outdoors on grass during this time. For that reason, heels are not recommended for the reception.

Are plus-ones and children allowed?

Answer

Yes. When you RSVP, you will be advised the number of guests you are allowed to bring.

What is the best airport to use?

Answer

Dane County Regional Airport-Truax Field (MSN), is an airport located on the north side of the city of Madison, Wisconsin. The hotels are a short distance away and will be easily accessible via taxi, public transit or ride share. *Note* The Hilton Madison Monona Terrace hotel has a complimentary airport shuttles to/from Dane Co. Airport 7am – 10pm daily.
