Asking two people who spend a lot of time in scrubs about clothing is always a risky proposition. We are envisioning something like "mountain fancy" or "Colorado cocktail," including but not limited to breezy dresses, summery suits, possible tie, possible open collar, and other indicated attire. We hope to be outside, weather permitting, and on a mix of grass and gravel surfaces, in case that affects shoe choices. Colorado evenings can get chilly, our friend Evan strongly encourages bringing an extra layer.
We want your presence, not presents! The greatest gift you could give is traveling to be with us for our wedding. If you're unable to join and would like to contribute a small gift to commemorate our union, please consider a donation to one of the following organizations. Project Street Vet http://www.projectstreetvet.org/ The Bail Project http://bailproject.org/
We kindly request no children at the Saturday event. However, it is important to us to accommodate all of our guests who are able to attend, and we would be happy to spend time with our young friends at the other events! In the interest of including families who would travel together, we are working on a childcare option for the wedding and reception. Please reach out to discuss the details, so we know who will be involved.
We will be coordinating transportation between the Mining Exchange or Antlers and the event. Additionally, ride share services (such as Lyft and Uber) work well in the area. If you choose to rent a car, parking on site is readily available.
We are getting married at a family-run flower farm! Nick and Bambi Venetucci owned this 200 acre parcel for nearly 70 years, and made it famous for their annual pumpkin giveaway. Starting in the 1950s, the Venetuccis invited regional school kids to come pick their own pumpkins, and most of us who grew up in the area remember visiting the farm as children. When the Venetuccis passed away, they donated their land to a trust, but the farm retains the family name. Currently, the property is managed by three sisters who grow flowers and host seasonal events, including pick your-own-bouquets, concerts and other activities that carry on the farm's legacy.
