Ocotal Beach
The beach on Playa Ocotal is one of the best places to snorkel in the area. Playa Ocotal is also one of the cleanest and quietest beaches around. Its sands are volcanic black, the waters are a bright blue and the fresh ocean air is tinged with white mist. It's a quick 4-minute walk down to the beach from the villa and also the location of our ceremony!
Father Rooster
Father Rooster is the premier beachfront bar & restaurant on the northern Pacific coast of Costa Rica, located right on Ocotal Beach. The location and scenery combined with top quality (yet very simple) food and famous frozen drinks makes Father Rooster a must-visit while you're relaxing on the beach. 5 minute walk from the villa.
Coco
Although, the villas are located in the remote Ocotal community overlooking Playa Ocotal, the nearest town is Coco. In Coco, you can find great shopping, grocery store, a pharmacy, a variety of restaurants and bars, and even a casino. Coco is very safe and family friendly. 10 minute drive from the villa.
Tenorio Volcano National Park
Costa Rica hiking is a popular pastime for tourists from all over the world. The country is justly famous for its glorious scenery and stunning views. A hike that should be on every visitor's must-do list is the trail of the Río Celeste, the Heavenly River. The Río Celeste trail is 3.7 miles long round trip and is not particularly strenuous. You should plan on about three hours to complete it. As it winds its way through the Tenorio Volcano National Park, the river path includes a waterfall, Laguna Azul, a suspended bridge, and the Borbollones, a section of the river bubbling with hot springs. 2 hour drive from the villa.
Miravalles Volcano
The stunning Miravalles Volcano is located in the Guanacaste province where there is tropical yet dry climate. This beautiful volcano stands 1969ft (600m) above sea level raising a total height of 6654ft (2028m). The National Park makes up around 10,850 hectares of land. At about half an hour from Miravalles, you can find the stunning Cortez waterfalls. 1 hour 45 minute drive from the villa.
Diamante Eco Adventure Park
Diamante Eco Adventure Park is conveniently located and is the only oceanfront adventure park offering unique experiences in Costa Rica. Diamante is known for its exciting Zip Line course featuring the longest dual action zip line in the country and is home to a renowned Animal Sanctuary and one of the most beautiful Wildlife Education Centers in Costa Rica. 30 minute drive from the villa.
