Costa Rica is by far the safest, friendliest nation in the hemisphere with a long history of peace, stability, and kindness to the visitors. With a policy of active neutrality, the country has twice earned the nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize. It has also repeatedly been referred to as the “Switzerland of the Americas”. According to the U.S. Embassy website, Costa Rica is statistically safer than the U.S., and political violence is non-existent.
Although Costa Rica is home to several tropical rainforests, the Guanacaste Province generally gets the least amount of rainfall in all of Costa Rica, making it a fantastic vacation destination. The seasons of Costa Rica are generally split into two, the wet season (May to mid-November) and the dry season (mid-November to April). You can expect temperatures to be in the mid-to-upper 80's during the day and mid 70's at night.
