FAQs

The Wedding Website of Madisyn Kuipers and Taylor Westfall
If you have any questions other than what we've listed here, please reach out to the bride, Madisyn, at (616)566-2809. But only for important things, please!
Question

When is the RSVP deadline?

Answer

Please let us know by July 1st at the very latest.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

The dress code is formal. For women: full-length, modest gowns. The bridesmaids will be wearing light sage green dresses with pashminas over the top for the church dress code. For men: suits and ties. The groomsmen will be wearing black suits with light green ties. No jeans or short dresses, please! The church and hotel venues both have air conditioning. The Texas heat will only reach you if you go outside. You actually may want a sweater in the church anyway, as it can get chilly. Also, the Cathedral is a sacred space and has a strict dress code of modesty. Please plan accordingly! You can get loose at the reception, but the church is a holy place. Thank you!

Question

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

We purposefully chose a hotel venue for the reception to 1.) be indoors, and 2.) make it as easy as possible for those flying in. Guests can book a room at Hotel Zaza through our booking link, and then once the night is over, they can head to their room easily via the elevators. The church and hotel venue are both indoors. We love you all and appreciate your traveling to Texas in the heart of summer for us. We would not subject you to an outdoor ceremony.

Question

How do I get to and from the church to the venue?

Answer

Hotel Zaza and Saint Mary's Cathedral are approximately a half mile away. If you don't want to walk (which, I do not recommend, since it'll be hot out), you may uber, call a cab, rent a car and valet it, or share a ride with other wedding guests. Madisyn is working on seeing if the hotel offers shuttles.

Question

What time should I arrive for the ceremony?

Answer

The wedding ceremony starts at 1:30 pm at Saint Mary's Cathedral. We would recommend arriving around 1:15 pm to take in the beauty of the holy space, find a seat, and make sure you're not late!

Question

Can I bring a plus-1? Can I bring my kids? Are babies welcome?

Answer

If you're married to them and your invitation had their name on it too, then yes! Otherwise, please double-check with Madisyn for the headcount. We want to ensure that we have seating and food for everyone attending. Your kids and babies are absolutely welcome. Madisyn's siblings' children will be there and would love to play and dance with yours. Please confirm with Madisyn the headcount you will be bringing along with you by early July at the latest.

Question

What if I have food allergies or dietary restrictions?

Answer

Madisyn and Taylor will be working with the hotel venue to ensure that there are gluten-free options for those who need them. The food will be labeled accordingly. Please reach out if you have other allergy needs, and we will try to accommodate you.
