Question

What time should I arrive at the wedding venue, Olowalu Plantation?

Answer

Our wedding starts promptly at 2:00pm on Wednesday March 11, 2020. Please show up anytime between 1:00pm - 1:45pm, but no later than 1:55pm at the absolute latest. Please try to give yourself time to park, sign the guestbook, sign the newlywed advice cards and be seated before 2:00pm. Mahalo

Question

Where should I park?

Answer

There is complimentary parking at the wedding venue, Olowalu Plantation.

Question

Will there be a reception with dinner and drinks served?

Answer

Absolutely! Following the ceremony will be our reception with dinner, dancing, drinks and more! There is a cocktail hour immediately after the ceremony offering complimentary beer, wine, champagne, POG juice and water. All drinks will remain complimentary throughout the entire event. Appetizers will also be hand-passed during cocktail hour which are coconut shrimp and fresh tropical fruit skewers with honey. Then dinner will be served along with dancing and memory making.

Question

What is the dress code for the wedding?

Answer

It is a Hawaiian wedding so it will be warm. We're on a tropical island. Please dress comfortably, yet island formal. Light, thin, breathable fabrics will be best, otherwise you will be hot and uncomfortable. We would like everyone to be dressed nicely. For females think maxi-dresses, short-length dresses and sandals, and for men think short-sleeved button up shirts such as a golf polo or Hawaiian style shirt, khaki shorts and sandals. Suits are welcomed if you would like to dress more formal, but you will be warm. We highly recommend open-toed shoes for your comfort due to the heat. We're ok with whatever you decide, as long as you look nice and are comfortable.

Question

Is there a shuttle from the hotels to and from the ceremony?

Answer

Unfortunately, no. There will be free onsite parking available at the venue at Olowalu Plantation. Uber and Lyft are available in Maui.

Question

Are there any planned activities for everyone? (Bamboo Forest Hike & Black Sandy Beach are optional activities)

Answer

Yes, please click on the "schedule" tab above to see all the details- 1) Bamboo Forest Hike, 2) Beach Party at Kahekili Beach Park directly next to our resort at the Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas the day before our wedding to hang out & catch up with everyone. Location- 65 Kai Ala Dr, Lahaina, HI 96761 at 2pm on Tuesday March 10, 2020. We'll have food for everyone. Please bring your own drinks. Kahekili Beach Park is a picnic area directly next to our resort at the Westin. It's a boardwalk-lined public beach with a covered picnic pavilion, BBQ grills, showers & restrooms. Please park your car at the beach's public parking area or in the parking lot to your first right after you've entered through the Westin gate area. Both areas are free to park in (we've double-checked with the Westin regarding their parking lot to the right-hand side after entering their entrance gate). We'll be available to hang out throughout the week, but please enjoy yourself & your vacation too! Aloha!

Question

Will anyone be playing a round of golf in Maui?

Answer

Absolutely! Diana's dad, Ray, plans to play golf while in Maui. He's shipping his golf clubs to Maui, but you can easily rent your golf clubs there if needed for around $30. Please feel free to contact Diana's dad, Ray, at (707) 761-0331 if you would like to coordinate tee times. Ray plans to 100% golf on Monday March 9th. If you would like to ship your golf clubs to Maui, we recommend using https://www.shipsticks.com, which costs around $250 for shipping there and back. If you would like to rent your clubs there, we recommend Jimmy's Maui Golf Rentals at 4405 Honoapiilani Hwy, Lahaina, HI 96761. Phone # (808) 283-3317 at http://jimmysmauigolfrentals.com

Question

What will the weather be like in Maui in March?

Answer

March marks the end of the island's winter season and the beginning of its Spring season. Expect mid to high 80's in temperature, warm winds with possible light tropical rain. The West side of the island Maui tends to stay dry year-round, which is where our wedding is located. We recommend packing sandals, tennis shoes if planning to hike, short sleeve tops, shorts, dresses and of course beach attire / swimsuits. We've never packed a pair of jeans or long-sleeved tops or sweaters to Maui, ever.

Question

Are children invited to the wedding ceremony and reception?

Answer

We love your kids -- we really do, but we want our wedding to be your time off.

Question

Can I bring a date, a plus one to the wedding?

Answer

We're so sorry, but our venue budget can only accommodate those we invite. If your name is on the invitation, you are invited.

Question

Are there any hotels offering discounted prices for your wedding guests?

Answer

Yes. The Ka'anapali Beach Hotel, located directly on the beach on the Ka'anapali Strip, is offering discounted prices for our wedding guests if you book with them directly using the code/mentioning "Farris & Schembri Wedding Group" when making your reservation. 2-night minimum stay is required. Be sure to call the reservation office directly for the discounted rates at 1-800-262-8450 or (808) 661-0011

Question

Where are the soon-to-be newlyweds staying for the week of the wedding?

Answer

We're staying at the Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas at 6 Kai Ala Drive. Lahaina, Maui Hawaii 96761
