Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Julia Wentworth and Brandon Bullock
Crested Butte is a mountain paradise and we highly recommend you give yourself time before or after the wedding to explore and enjoy. Below are some places to get started as you plan your trip. Keep in mind that weather can be irregular in September, with the chance for sunshine and 65*, or snow and 30*. Please plan accordingly.
Outdoor Adventures Galore!

Outdoor Adventures Galore!

Crested Butte has something for everyone: hiking, biking, walks, fly fishing, horseback riding, town strolling, river playing, SUP boarding - you name it! Follow this link to the town's primary tourism website and view the "Play" tab for things to do. We also recommend you search AllTrails.com for hikes and MTBProject.com for bike rides. Regardless of where you go, make sure you wear sunscreen, bring layers, take snacks, and drink lots of water so you stay feeling good.

Brush Creek: Hike/Walk or Bike

Brush Creek: Hike/Walk or Bike

For those wanting an easy-access river valley walk/hike, with stunning mountain views. This 4.5 mile (flat) out and back is perfect for those coming from lower elevation. The trailhead is a 10 minute drive from town and will provide a different vantage point of pristine mountain peaks. It's pretty stunning at sunrise and is a favorite running location for Julia.

Strand Hill: Hike or Bike

Strand Hill: Hike or Bike

There are various options for connecting together trails on Strand Hill to make your ideal hike or bike adventure. Depending on where you start, the trail can be fairly steep for the first mile. Keep in mind that, depending on winter snowfall and spring temperatures, there might still be snow on the trail. Strand Hill parking is about a half mile past the Brush Creek Trailhead, ~10 minutes from town.

Lower Loop River Valley: Hike or Bike

Lower Loop River Valley: Hike or Bike

A great trail accessed right from downtown Crested Butte. It is fairly flat with options to add on mileage or altitude as you feel comfortable. The trail tracks along the beautiful Slate River.
