Maid of Honor
I met Mikaela on day one of freshman year at Saint Mary’s College of California, and she’s been like a sister to me ever since we simultaneously quoted the same Brian Regan joke and thought, “did we just become best friends?!” (We did). You could always find us at country concerts, driving to Davis for late-night line dancing, or exploring SF together. Today, that looks like consistent FaceTimes, visits between Sacramento and San Diego, and our favorite tradition—meeting in San Clemente for an old-fashioned sleepover and family dinner at the pier. Mikaela’s friendship is such a blessing, and I’m beyond grateful to have her by my side as my Maid of Honor!
Matron of Honor
I met Adriana in the first days of freshman year at Saint Mary’s College of California, and she quickly swooped me up and welcomed me into her life and family—who became a second family. I just as quickly named her my Soul Sister, a title that’s stuck ever since. Some favorite memories include Sunday family dinners in Fremont, cooking and baking between classes, nostalgic movie nights, line dancing, road trips, and beach days. These days we catch up on morning car rides, FaceTime often, visit between San Diego and the Bay Area, and cheer each other on through every moment. Soul sisters for life—I’m so grateful and stoked to have Adriana standing by my side as my Matron of Honor!
Bridesmaid
Erika is my sister-in-law, married to my older brother, Peter, and I knew she was going to be part of our family after their very first date. Erika is wicked smart, whimsical, witty, thoughtful, and deeply caring. I knew she and my brother were made for each other when she stole one of his t-shirts and recreated an ancient Facebook profile photo of his—same pose, same shirt—just to troll him. Genius. She's incredibly smart, hardworking, a fantastic mother to my nephew and ring bearer, Ryker, and a brilliant artist whose paintings fill their home. I’m so blessed to have Erika as my sister and a friend for life.
Bridesmaid
Mallory is RJ’s younger sister and one of the first people I met at Saint Brigid’s Young Adult group. As time went on at Saint B’s, we got to know each other better, which eventually led her to introducing me to RJ. Her subtle, thoughtful support played a meaningful role in helping RJ and me meet and connect, and I’m forever grateful for that. She brings warmth, joy, and laughter to the people around her, and is beyond intuitive, kind, loving, playful, creative, and adventurous. I feel incredibly blessed to be gaining Mallory as a sister!
Bridesmaid
Jenn—aka Jenny, JennyBoo Fresh, J100—my Saint Mary’s College theatre fairy godmother, has been my comrade in arms from freshman year through our conservatory days in LA. We practically lived in the theater, up at all hours with fellow thespians, running lines, acting like complete clowns, and surviving on tea and ramen. She’s hands down one of the funniest people I know—whip smart, witty, always down to clown or adventure, and incredibly intuitive as an actor and director. So beyond grateful to have Jenn in my life.
Bridesmaid
Shea is one of my closest High School friends from Cathedral Catholic! I remember meeting Shea one of the first days of high school and immediately appreciating her calm and grounding presence. We've been a witness to each other's highs and lows, and laughed through it all together. Shea loves life to the fullest and is the ultimate outdoor adventure buddy. Shea is a rock within any storm, always mellow and down to Earth. She has the biggest heart and smile, and a most contagious laugh. Very grateful to love and to have had Shea's friendship in my life for so long.
Bridesmaid
Olivia is one of my real-world best friends (not from school or work)! She moved to San Diego almost seven years ago, and we became friends not long after that when I met her through a mutual friend and we instantly bonded over knowing ASL—we spent most of that first hangout signing together. I soon learned she is a creative who owns her own jewelry company and is an ASL interpreter. Liv is loving, empathetic, hilarious, and emotionally intuitive, and our friendship has grown into a true sisterhood. I love you, Liv Bug!
Bridesmaid
I met Hosanna (aka Toyota) my first summer as a counselor at Gold Arrow Camp, and it was friendship at first sight. Having grown up on the mountain, she showed me the ropes and quickly adopted me into her mountain family for that summer—and many after. We camped, hiked to swimming holes, baked and cooked with her brothers, trampolined, hammocked, snowboarded, and adventured everywhere from the mountains to SLO, SD, and LA. Hosanna is joyful, adventurous, deeply caring, endlessly encouraging, and has the most infectious laugh. I love her to the mountains and back again.
Bridesmaid
I met Caitlin (aka Aqua) my first summer at Gold Arrow Camp as my co-counselor and first GAC friend, and we still call each other Aqua and Smalls to this day. Her calm, grounded presence made camp an unforgettable experience, especially as we spent 12 weeks caring for twelve ten-year-old girls together. I’ll always cherish our late-night cabin talks, candy contraband, and nonstop laughter. Caitlin is a brand new mama, a wicked smart lawyer ("What, like it's hard?"), a magnet for connection, and deeply caring. I’m so grateful to have her as a sissy in my life.
Best Man
Rene is more like a brother than a friend. We've dreamed, fought, and grown together since 4th grade, where he was the first friend I made at a new school. His parents are like extra parents to me, and they took no small part in raising me, as Rene and I were inseparable as kids. I can always rely on Rene's constant support and encouragement; he's the most positive personality I've ever known, and he never fails to make me laugh.
Groomsman
Aaron is my computer and career guru, and my most unhinged friend. We've been gaming, cooking, and making poorly planned road trips since high school. The only person I would trust to move a TV out of my apartment at 3am in a snowstorm.
Groomsman
Alex and I have been buddies since middle school. A history and movie buff, he always makes our gaming table more interesting with his encyclopedic knowledge of movie references. A level head and true friend.
Groomsman
My brother in blood and my brother in arms. While neither of us has ever served in the military, we did our fair share of fighting (each other) as kids. Now as an adult, he's more admirable and persistent than ever, and somehow even more of that "Freaky Wild Man" we always loved.
Groomsman
My brother-in-law, and husband to my beautiful sister, Mallory; Justin is someone I can always trust to share an encouraging word. His support, in part, gave me the courage to pursue Kate in the early days of our relationship, and to propose our engagement as well. Best of all, he sees Mallory through God's eyes, and that makes him a king in my book.
Groomsman
Another esteemed member of the Marino clan, I've known Jon nearly as long as Rene, though I would say we became friends ourselves during a camping trip to Deep Creek Hot Springs in 2023. As always, Jon was the life of the party, and made everyone laugh. He's too punk rock for real life.
Groomsman
I knew I liked Andrew when he offered me his flute to try while on a camping trip. I was terrible, he was kind about it, and I knew I had made another friend. A musician and outdoorsman after my own heart, Andrew is the perfect hiking companion to sing sea shanties with.
Groomsman
Jason and I met as coworkers when I tried to muster the courage to tell him to wear safety glasses so he wouldn't lose an eye. I didn't, he didn't, happy ending. The best roommate ever. There are no known photos of this man.
Groomsman
Pete is Kate's older brother, and my brother-in-law to be. He is an artist and nerd like me, very kind, and a wonderful father to his son. I would let no one else paint my wargame miniatures.
