We met at the Saint Brigid’s Memorial Day Beach Party in 2024! I actually met RJ’s younger sister, Mallory, first at Saint Brigid’s Young Adult Bible study, and she introduced us on the beach that day. RJ lives in Corona, so he just happened to be in San Diego visiting, and I was returning from a weekend away when I decided at the last minute to head down to Pacific Beach for the party. After that, we kept running into each other at a string of events over the next month and a half in San Diego. Then came a Fourth of July party we both showed up for where we were inseparable, and by the end of the weekend, RJ asked me out. After our first date, we talked on the phone every day and spent as much time together as we could on the weekends. Just over a year later, on August 30th, RJ planned a beach date in Del Mar. We spent the day together, grabbed dinner, and then took a sunset walk along the beach—when he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I couldn’t say yes fast enough!
