FAQs

The Wedding Website of RJ Weinheimer and Kate Zolezzi
Question

When is the RSVP deadline?

Answer

We kindly ask that you RSVP as soon as you are able. To assist us with final planning, please respond no later than May 1, 2026.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If your invitation includes a plus one, you are warmly welcome to bring a guest. And if your invitation does not include a plus one, we kindly ask that you attend without a guest. Thank you for understanding.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

RJ and I have a deep love for children and families, and we are delighted to welcome those who are included in our celebration. Children are invited if their names appear on the RSVP list online. Please indicate on the RSVP whether they will be attending.

Question

Can I attend Mass if I am not Catholic?

Answer

Yes—everyone is welcome! If you are not Catholic, or are not receiving Communion, you are warmly invited to remain seated during Communion or to come forward for a blessing with your arms crossed over your chest. The Nuptial Mass will last about one hour.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Cocktail attire! For Women- -Dresses: Knee-length, tea-length, or midi dresses are classic; elegant long dresses with relaxed silhouettes (A-line, sheath) are also great. -Alternatives: A chic jumpsuit or a dressy skirt and blouse combo work well. *Bring a sweater or shawl for the evening as it might get cold (We will have some outdoor heaters). For Men- -Suit: A well-tailored suit (navy, gray, or even lighter colors for daytime). -Shirt: A dress shirt, perhaps in a nice cotton or Oxford fabric. -Tie or bow tie: A tie/bow tie is generally expected for weddings. -Shoes: Polished dress shoes, like oxfords or loafers.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

As this is an open Catholic wedding ceremony, we anticipate the church may fill quickly. Guests are kindly asked to arrive between 12:15pm and 12:45pm. The ceremony mass will begin at 1pm sharp.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church offers ample free parking in both its upper and lower lots. At the Aviara Park Hyatt Hotel and Resort, where our Cocktail Party and Dinner Reception will be held, guests may also take advantage of guest parking and valet services. Day of reception parking validation at the Aviara is courtesy of the bride's family. Overnight resort wedding guests parking fees apply separately.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes, please indicate in the Cocktail Hour and Reception RSVP.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Some hotel recommendations are listed under the Travel section here on our website around the areas of Carlsbad, Encinitas, and Del Mar.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

Please note that transportation will not be provided between the ceremony and reception. We recommend arranging an Uber, taxi, or carpooling with fellow guests. Day of reception parking validation at the Aviara is courtesy of the bride's family. Overnight resort wedding guests parking fees apply separately.
