Snowshoe, as you will soon find out, is in the middle of nowhere. But that’s part of its charm! Although there are a few airports with minimal service (Primarily AA, Boooo) closer, your best bet would be to fly into IAD and drive the roughly 4-5 hours to the mountain. Please reach out to Kevin, he will be happy to paint a clearer picture of the area to best determine travel plans for you.

Driving and directions

Another reason we love Snowshoe is its lack of connectivity to the outside world. Snowshoe is only a few miles from the center of the national radio quiet zone, so cell phone service is infuriatingly minimal at best, and for the most part, non-existent. This lack of service starts roughly halfway to your drive to Snowshoe. We highly recommend having the GPS maps downloaded offline to your phone for directions, (or at the very least take it back 20 years and print off MapQuest directions). We also recommend downloading some music for the drive!

Other lodging

While the wedding will be hosted at Corduroy Inn, there are a multitude of lodging options on the mountain. If you search Snowshoe on Airbnb or VRBO there will be plenty to choose from, ranging from studios, 1bd or 2bd condo units, to enormous 8-bedroom houses. You can also book directly through Snowshoe resort. We would dare to say that most of the resort is walkable from the venue, with the exception of the south mountain area, silver creek, and west ridge road. However, if you do decide to stay in one of those areas, there is an on-demand shuttle that should be able to drive you to wherever you need.
