Despite some hiccups along the way, we are all set to celebrate with you - our loved family and friends - on October 23, 2021. We will be having a formal wedding celebration on Saturday night at Cipriani Wall Street and are really looking forward to laughing, dancing, and hugging each of you!!
Starting August 16, you will be required to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination for indoor dining, indoor fitness, and indoor entertainment and performances. Employees at locations offering these activities are also required to be vaccinated. We know this news is local to NYC and that you may not have these same regulations in your home city. Please be aware of these as you make your decisions about attending our wedding and other weekend activities. We are not yet aware of how these new regulations will affect our wedding venue but anticipate that proof of vaccination will be necessary for guests to be able to attend and enjoy our wedding. https://www1.nyc.gov/site/doh/covid/covid-19-main.page
Dearest Friends & Family, We write to check in, update you and tell you that we miss you. First and foremost, we hope that everyone reading this note is safe, healthy and that those who you love remain well. We are mindful that at this time, checking in with loved ones takes on an entirely new meaning. And yes, a global pandemic has caused us to reshuffle our plans. We are grateful if that is to be the biggest consequence for us and we have pushed our celebration as far out as we could conceive to ensure that when we are back together again, it will be when we feel far more safe and comfortable; hugging, laughing and dancing without a mask. We believe that October 23, 2021 will be a good date for us all to enjoy New York City again! Finally, Wayne is living in Brooklyn with Laurie which is a great consolation during this otherwise strange time. What hasn't changed is that Wayne continues to dress to the nine’s though his commute is now from one room to another in their apartment and that Laurie has taken to introducing a soup course for the couple’s midday feast (until the weather turned). Clearly another thing that has stayed entirely the same is our love for each of you. Stay well, stay sane, and be in touch! Love, Laurie & Wayne
Our story began in NYC through a dating app that Laura posted with a typo - instead of almond milk, Laura wrote "almost" milk. Despite the typo, Wayne insists that he was sure he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her based solely on her profile. This has been proven out over the last year, which has taken Laura and Wayne across the US, Canada, Spain, Italy, and Jamaica. Wayne lives in Toronto and Laura in Brooklyn, and despite the distance, we have both never felt closer to anyone, and love each other more with every passing day. We made it official on November 10, 2019 at Strawberry Hill in Jamaica when he proposed with all sorts of flourishes and Laura gleefully accepted. August 1, 2020 is the next milestone in our relationship, and we are incredibly excited about you celebrating it with us!!!!! PS - this was written in January of 2020 when we had recently gotten engaged and began planning for an August 1, 2020 wedding. Obviously...things got upended!
