Many couples' stories start in a conventional way, they meet in a coffee shop, in a class, or bump into each other at a bar. David and Taylor's story began on a back porch. To provide context, David and Taylor were a part of the men's and women's gymnastics team at William and Mary. David started school at W&M in 2015, Taylor the year after in 2016. In the beginning, they knew of each other but never had the opportunity to speak at length with each other. One night in September this all changed when David decided to approach Taylor on a back porch during a team function. Challenged with a question about the pop band The 1975, Taylor answered the question without hesitation and they hit it off. The longer they talked the more they realized how much they had in common. That night, they talked for hours and became best friends. At 4am David walked Taylor back to her dorm in the freezing cold. David kept trying to offer Taylor his jacket, but for some strange reason Taylor refused to accept the offer. According to Taylor, by accepting the offer of the jacket, it would mean that they would be something more. When they arrived at the dorm, Taylor accepted the jacket and pranced inside. In the weeks and months after this night, they were inseparable, but still only as friends. It wasn't until a bribe of blueberry pancakes and ice cream, that Taylor decided to go on an official date with David. On the way home from this date, the newly founded couple were spotted by their teammates, officially outing them to the public as a pair. Flash forward through 4 years of College, 4 jobs, 2 apartments, and 2 cats later, David and Taylor got engaged on July 30th, 2022 in Maymont park surrounded by family. Unbeknownst to Taylor, David had planned a couples photoshoot as a way to pop the question, their families lying in wait to surprise her and celebrate the moment with her while capturing it all on camera. After two years of being engaged, the couple is excited to officially tie the knot surrounded by friends and family.
