If you'd like to book a surf session, you can do so here. Atlantic Park is a brand new mixed-use surf destination backed by Virginia Beach native Pharrell Williams, anchored by the first Wavegarden Cove surf lagoon in the United States. The lagoon produces up to 1,000 waves per hour, with wave heights ranging from 1 foot for beginners up to 6 feet for experienced surfers — so everyone can get in on it. Surf lessons and coaching are available for first-timers. Not ready to paddle out? Grab a Beach Club day pass, post up in a cabana, and watch the action. There's also a wading pool, food and beverage on site, and premium locker rooms. Atlantic Park is also home to The Dome — a revived legendary live music venue that originally hosted Jimi Hendrix and the Rolling Stones. Check their calendar for concerts while you're in town. Atlantic Park also has a bit of shopping (Faherty, Johnnie-O, etc) & several restaurants (we like Playa Bowls for a quick smoothie bowl or Mi Vida for lunch).
The old beach farmers market is every Saturday morning from 9 AM - 12 PM and has great local artisans, farmers, and great coffee spots located nearby. Our fave coffee spot to hit when we go to the market is Three Ships (607 19th St)! If you go, be sure to stop by Pretty Palm Candles to grab a candle or two. They are the best!
An oceanfront gem for breakfast and brunch!
Great oceanside spot for brunch and lunch. Located at the Marriott on 42nd.
A great spot for a boozy brunch! Note this is by Rudee Inlet so it may be busy with ECSC going on!
Located in the Historic Cavalier Hotel, this lobby bar is an elevated spot for a cocktail or even afternoon tea! Also fun to just grab a drink and walk around the hotel and grounds - it is really beautiful!
Great for an afternoon or evening cocktail with a GREAT view! Located at the top of the Marriott Hotel on 42nd St.
Here's some fun news: our wedding weekend falls on the final days of the 64th Annual Coastal Edge East Coast Surfing Championships (ECSC), running August 23–30, 2026 — the longest-running surf competition in the world. The ECSC transforms the Oceanfront from 1st Street to 10th Street into a massive beach festival, with professional and amateur surfers from around the globe competing in WSL QS2000 and Pro/Am divisions. But it goes way beyond the waves — over 80 hours of entertainment includes: 🛹 Skate and BMX demos 🏐 Beach volleyball and cornhole tournaments 🏈 Flag football 🎵 Live music 🍔 Food trucks and drink tents 🎉 The Miss Coastal Edge ECSC pageant The event is free to attend and draws tens of thousands of people to the Oceanfront. It runs daily from 7am–4pm (Friday nights until 10pm), so if you're arriving earlier in the week, you'll have plenty of time to take it all in. It's one of Virginia Beach's greatest traditions.
