Leo Carrillo State Park

Check out the tide pools! You can see sea anemones, sea urchins, starfish, mussels, crabs, barnacles, snails, and other sea creatures.

Griffith Park

Sprawling nature preserve smack in the middle of the east side of LA. Lots of great hikes.

If you're staying on the east side, this is our favorite spot for Thai food. Great for vegans and meat eaters alike

Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Downtown Los Angeles

Great place to go see a movie or grab a drink. Decorated with all kinds of old movie posters and kitsch. Each theater has a full service restaurant and reclining leather chairs. Heads up, though, they take their "no texting or talking during the movie" policy very seriously.
