We're truly a modern couple; we met on Hinge during the peak-pandemic September of 2020. Both of us were living alone in LA ... dating in LA is weird as it is, but the pandemic added a whole other layer. Matt thought Megan was cute, but didn't want to appear too thirsty, so he liked a picture of Megan's black lab (more on her later). Megan thought Matt was cute, too. After they messaged back and forth and Megan made a reference to one of Matt's pictures – an old Halloween costume of him dressed as Gene from "Wet Hot American Summer" – Matt asked Megan if she wanted to go on a video date with him. She said yes. We talked for four hours. It didn't feel like four hours, though. Matt, at least, had been on plenty of video dates that were far shorter, and seemed to drag on for a lot longer. This was easy for both of us. On September 27th, they had their first in-person date, then another, and another, and then a relationship. Friday, the black lab from before, accepted Matt as one of her pack. Megan introduced Matt to the world of vegan food (she's a vegan of 20 years). Matt made playlists for both Megan and Friday. Last September 29th, during their 3-year anniversary trip to Santa Barbara, Matt proposed to Megan on a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. She said yes. About a year later, on September 28th we are so extremely excited to have you all join us near another beach for our wedding in Malibu. Megan will celebrate anything she can, and now we have a 3-day weekend every year to celebrate our first in-person date, our wedding, and our engagement!
