Things to Do/See/Eat/Drink

The town of Hudson is located along the eastern bank of the Hudson River in Upstate New York, a 50 minute drive south from the the state capital of Albany. Across the river to the west are the gorgeous Catskills, a subrange within the Appalachian Mountains. Warren Street, the main drag through town, is bustling with chic boutiques, coffee shops, artist studios, antique stores, and fantastic bars and restaurants. Outside of town, you'll find the area has a wilderness spirit with touches of luxury, a real study in contrasts. There's great destinations for camping, hiking, and fishing, but also glamping resorts, swanky wineries, serious breweries, and tucked-away art centers. Below there's a map of the area with many places to stay and things to see highlighted...

Kaaterskill Falls is a magnificent two-stage waterfall located a short 40-minute drive up into the Catskills from the town of Hudson, accessible by a brief hike from the road. Note that parking can be tricky, but trust us it's well worth it if the weather is nice. The falls were a popular muse for the famous "Hudson River School" of mid-19th-century landscape painters, and the mid-tier basin is a popular local hangout spot in the warmer months.
