This quaint little shopping area is only 10 minutes away from the venue. On their website, they advertise themselves as a vibrant multi-dealer shopping community located in a Historic Texas Town that offers an eclectic mix of architectural, industrial, and vintage lifestyle antiques and art. This shop in particular also came with high recommendations from our coordinator. They've also partnered with a variety of vendors in the area including Comfort Coffee Co, Comfort Pizza, High's Cafe, Hill Country Distillers, and Newsom Vineyards! Their hours of operation: Tuesday-Saturday (10a-5p) Sunday (10a-4p) Mondays CLOSED
This cute retro converted gas station houses one of Comfort's best pizza shops. If you didn't know this by now, Victoria absolutely cannot resist a dang good slice of pizza so naturally, this is an absolute must for ya'll to visit and indulge! Located within walking distance from Meyer's Hotel, they are BEST known for their mesquite wood fired pizzas. One thing to keep in mind is to call and reserve your pizza before arriving. Reserving is not required, but highly recommended - we learned this the hard way during eclipse weekend and missed out majorly. Per reviews, their selection of wine, beer, salads, and gelato are also reputable. Their hours of operation: Wednesday-Sunday (11:30a-8:30p) Monday & Tuesday CLOSED
This vintage feeling cafe and store also came in with high recommendations by our coordinator. They offer a variety of food options (and a menu for the kiddos) including specialty salads and sandwiches, sides, and soups! Outdoor seating also available for you to dine and experience/relish in Texas's infamous "fall" weather. We loved the story that brought this business to life. Here's the inspiration behind the name of the coffeeshop: "Why 'The Wander’n Calf'? Well, any parent of a child with special needs is truly on a journey, navigating and advocating through every area of life- medical, social, and academic. It can be exhausting and lonely. For our family, it felt like we were wandering for years just trying to find a place to belong. The “Calf” refers to those with unique needs and represents their innocence and a need for guidance along their journey. We want The Wander’n Calf to be a place where the community can get exceptional coffee, tea and sweets AND where those who have been ”wandering”, can feel like they have finally found a place to belong." A link to their menu: https://www.wanderncalf.com/s/order#16 Their hours of operation: Tuesday-Friday (7a-2p) Saturday (8a-2p) Sunday & Monday CLOSED
The name of the shop is a mantra in of itself. As many of you know by now, Edwin can only function at his baseline with at LEAST 3 cups of coffee, regardless of the time of day. Seriously. Can't say if the latter is impressive or a problem. Needless to say, it felt necessary to put in another coffee shop rec. Outside of liquid fuel, this shop also offers a variety of non-coffee beverages, delicious sandwiches, salads, and other breakfast items to satisfy your cravings. Opened in 1998, this winery's tasting room is located in a restored circa 1904 Hill Country Home complete with a wood burning stove. Unusual wines can be found here, including raisin wine, an orange wine and a jalapeño wine. Jalapeño wine is great for cooking, marinating or Texas Style adventurous drinking!
Another recommendation made by our coordinator - details coming soon!
