First off, we want to give everyone another warm welcome and thank you all again for being so supportive and understanding in the midst of our switcheroo. This is admittingly a little awkward, but we are truly blessed to have things work in our favor so far and slowly begin to fall into place. As stressful as it may sound, we are truthfully at ease knowing that a huge weight has been lifted off our shoulders (we're sure for yours as well). With that being said, we hope to celebrate our day with you and thank you once again for making the time to spend your holiday week with us at our wedding festival!
Despite both living in the Greater Houston area for as long as we can remember, graduating from the same university, and having gone to colleges that were literally right next to each other (mine being the college of art and his in engineering), our paths did not cross until we both attended the same nursing school in 2019. We remember our nursing orientation like it was yesterday; it was super early in the morning and half the battle was just sitting through Houston traffic and trying to find parking in the medical center. I had walked in a little later than everyone else and Edwin was already sitting with another group towards the front. I found a seat on his row and managed to meander my way through until I plunged into the next empty seat leaving one in between us. We sat through the first half of the presentation without saying a single word to each other. When it was time for lunch, all 100 or so of us were rallied upstairs and I can distinctly remember feeling super claustrophobic (pre-covid times), like a sardine in a can, but when I turned around I realized I recognized a familiar face. I remember debating whether or not I should've introduced myself, but as soon as we made eye contact I immediately blurted out, "Hey, I think you sat next to me this morning. I'm Victoria, what's your name?" Edwin flashed a half smile (we call it his stroke smile) and introduced himself. And thus, our story began.
