Question

How to Pack

Answer

Island attire! Weather in Hawaii is warm, but unpredictable; be prepared for rain and humidity at times. Kona and the western shore is generally warm and sunny, but our day adventure in Hilo on the eastern side will likely be rainy (especially in the rainforest!)

Question

Airport transportation

Answer

The Royal Kona Resort is ~20 min south of the Kona Airport. Uber is available. If renting a car, hotel parking is $15/day. Street parking is free but limited.

Question

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

The day adventure is adults-only, but we are offering childcare services for the day - let us know if you need this! Kiddos are welcome for the rest of the festivities. Let us know which dinner events (Friday welcome dinner, Saturday dinner and partying at Ola Brew co) your kids will be attending so we know to include your little ones.

Question

What should I expect from the day adventure?

Answer

We will be traveling to the other side of the island, which includes a 2h scenic drive each way. Once we're there the driving between spots is less than 20 minutes. We expect to eat lunch ~12:30p. All walking will be on mostly paved ground, with some stairs and a bit of manicured grass. Be prepared to walk up to 1 mile at a leisurely pace. We will be heading to a rainforest, so be prepared for it to rain - and pleasantly surprised if it doesn’t :) Other Notes: - There will be a bathroom on the charter bus - Bring your own water bottle - we will have water refills on the bus. (We'd like to minimize plastic waste in respect for the island and natural heritage.) - Per the transportation company, there is no eating or drinking (booze) permitted on the bus

Question

WHEN SHOULD I RSVP BY

Answer

Please let us know May 30, 2020, though sooner is better for planning and logistical purposes!

For all the days along the way
