Places To Eat & Things To Do

Amboy Cottage Cafe

Amboy Cottage Cafe

100 East Maine Street, Amboy, MN 56010
, (507) 674-3123

This little restaurant is one of our favorites. They have really delicious homemade local food, and their menu is friendly to food allergies or restrictions. They are about 30 minutes away from Blue Earth, and they are well worth the little drive. PS: Their raspberry bread pudding and their hot chocolate are just wonderful!

St Peter Food Co-op & Deli

St Peter Food Co-op & Deli

228 West Mulberry Street, Saint Peter, MN 56082
, (507) 934-4880

This little co-op has a great food selection ranging from delicious sandwiches to chipotle styled bowls to unique foods from other cultures as well. Plus it is just fun to walk around and look at the things they sell there. If you are driving down from the Twin Cities, this will be a good little place to stop as you drive South on 169.

India Palace

India Palace

1511 Madison Avenue, Mankato, MN 56001
, (507) 625-2300

If you like Indian food, this is a great little stop. Also, get their Chai tea because it is wonderful. I recommend getting it warm and not iced. It will just cheer you up and relax you.

Cedar Inn Drive-In

Cedar Inn Drive-In

324 North Grove Street, Blue Earth, MN 56013
, (507) 526-5612

This local little drive in is right in town and is perfect for a burger and fries or onion rings with some ice-cream as dessert. You can also sit at the tables set out front as well if you don't want to do the traditional drive in.

Green Giant Statue Park

Green Giant Statue Park

1126 Green Giant Lane, Blue Earth, MN 56013
, (507) 526-3001

When you come to Blue Earth, it is part of tradition to take a picture with the Jolly Green Giant, and yes, he is the guy in the commercials and on the food packages. You really can't miss him when coming into town! Feel free to walk around the nice little park area and go into the visitor's center. The center is new and there are other little "green giants" around town that you can check out too!

Steinberg Nature Park

Steinberg Nature Park

39041 East 7th Street, Blue Earth, MN 56013

Steinberg Park is actually one of the places Aaron and I went to on our first date. It is right outside of town, but only a few minutes from the church. It is also on the way from the church to Aaron's house. If you want to stop by a place to walk around or have your kids run around, this park will be a great location between the wedding ceremony and open house. The park has walking trails for people/pets and picnic tables to eat/play games. There are lookout points that overlook the Blue Earth River. It is a great place to find birds and unique flowers. You might want to bring some bug spray since this park is natural and does not get sprayed for bugs.

Putnam Park

Putnam Park

111 West 14th Street, Blue Earth, MN 56013
, (507) 526-7336

Putnam Park is right in town and not far from the church. If you have kiddos, this park has a playground and even a Frisbee golf course which is perfect for some time outside with family or friends. This will be a great stop before or after the wedding if your kiddos need a place to run around and get some energy out.

Walnut Lake State Wildlife Management Area

54732 110th Street, Wells, MN 56097
, (507) 225-3572

Walnut Lake is a wonderful place for fishing, walking through nature trails, or simply relax in nature. Located just north of Bricelyn, Walnut Lake is within a ten minute drive of the open house. If you want a peaceful location to relax and spend some time with family, this could be a beautiful spot to try!
