While Vicky and Sarah were tidepooling in Half Moon Bay in high school, a bear fell out of a hot air balloon and injured Vicky’s ankle. Sarah rushed to her rescue and held the bear accountable in offering a sincere apology. Afterwards, they all enjoyed a snack of English peas and Goldfish crackers on the beach in the rain. Sarah went on to play division 1 volleyball as an undergrad at SJSU, get a doctorate in clinical psychology from Stanford and Palo Alto University, and go on many creative and outdoorsy adventures with Vicky.

Andrew met David playing quadball (née quidditch) at Michigan. They really hit it off when they moved into their college house together, and they ruled that house from their heavily defensible position on the top floor. Since college, he's been pursuing that flighty temptress Adventure and has bounced around the corners of the country. He's currently down in Texas enjoying the ridiculous heat and renovating his house to have an open floor plan that's great for entertaining.

Rya and Vicky met when they were both the wives of sea captains in the mid-late 1800s on the coast of Maine. Every morning they would walk their widows walk pretending to cry about their husbands being gone when they were really gossiping and wearing their favorite gowns to look at whales and share craft ideas.

Evan and David met as first years attending Pigfarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, after David jokingly drank an entire bottle of magical beard growth tonic on the train to school. The two grew to be fast friends, despite that train ride being the last day anyone saw David's bare chin (a secret Evan will take to his grave). After graduating, both young wizards moved to the Bay Area, engaging in a variety of hobbies together, including tandem mountain biking, city-wide games of tag, and competitive beach reading. Outside of hanging out with David, Evan spends his time running, cycling, and performing data magic for your favorite search engine.

Alicia and Vicky used to push each other down staircases in laundry baskets. It was good preparation for the chaos of the preschool class Alicia teaches these days.

It's often said that Ryan is David's coolest friend. Ryan met David in high school and worked for his mom for a summer after he proved he was able to organize David's absolutely chaotic high-school bedroom. In high school, they shared a love of video games, ska music, and bad haircuts. To this day they've only kicked the bad haircuts. Ryan lives in Chicago, plays the drums in a local band, and does accounting for Hyatt Hotels.

Eric is honored to welcome you to the wedding of Vicky and David, for which he claims full credit. How? You’ll have to figure that out. But he's a hero, trust him.

Nick grew up in Boulder, CO where he met David at age 12. They spent their early teen years in basements playing Warcraft III and Magic the Gathering. As the two grew up and moved to separate cities, they continued to meet up spending time together everywhere from Portland, OR to hackathons in Ann Arbor, MI to Times Square stops in NYC. Today, Nick lives in Seattle, WA where he drags his fiancé and their dog bird watching.

Crystal is (almost) a lawyer (how terrible). She and Vicky met doov doov mmbop beep booping as freshmen in college, when inexplicably people would pay them to stand around and pretend to be instruments.* *ed. note: Crystal now lives FAR TOO FAR away splitting her time between the mystical lands of Chicago and Boston. She is welcome to come visit ANY TIME

Chris likes to say he's fun and exciting. This is day 256 of consecutive days eating a pepperoni pizza for every meal. His claim to fame is that he's never seen David wear pants in his entire life. David and Chris celebrate their friendiversary every year on August 16th (Chris thinks; David confirms this is correct).

Karen is thrilled to be a part of the wedding considering David hired her for an acting gig 6 years ago when he needed a "family" to introduce to Vicky. Luckily now, Karen and Vicky have had lots of their own adventures assembling couches, crafting to throwback movies, and baking!
