House Or Rental

Airbnb

Merida offers an incredible selection of Airbnbs featuring colonial style homes with modern and dreamy interiors, plunge pools, and courtyards- the perfect backdrop for you Instagram thirst traps. While most Airbnbs are a quick 3-5 minute Uber ride from Merida's hotspots, we recommend staying in an Airbnb close to Paseo de Montejo, Calle 47, Calle 60, or el Centro Historico if you prefer navigate by foot!

Rental Car

Transportation

We had no problems using Uber during our time in Merida. They were quick and inexpensive, costing 2-4 dollars per trip. We recommend using Uber or other ridshare platforms such as Indriver, DiDi and Cabify. We also hope to provide private transportation options for those interested in this service. Stay tuned... Of note, Ubers and rideshare platforms are prohibited from picking up at the Merida International Airport. You must arrange for a Taxi or private transfer upon arrival in Merida. More info on this to come!

Train

Tren Maya

The Mayan Train (Maya Train, Tren Maya, Tsíimin-K’áak or Fire Horse) is a new railway transportation service that connects 5 states in the southeastern region of Mexico, with 42 safe and modern trains. The Tren Maya ruta interconnects the main cities, tourist areas, attractions, and archaeological sites primarily related to the Maya culture. If you're interested in taking a daytrip to Izamal or Campeche, or want to round out your Mexican vacay with a trip to the Caribbean beaches of the Yucatan (ex. Cancun, Tulum), then this train might be the perfect option for you! The train recently opened, and we haven't yet had a chance to try it. We'll report back when we do!
