Cool off in the falls!
Located only a few miles from the venue, visit John & Veronica's local ski mountain. You can play a round of disc-golf, zip line, hike or take the lift to the summit for gorgeous views of the Champlain Valley.
Local beer and delicious farm to table pizza & salad. John & V suggest the New Vermont Sausage or Punctuated Equalibrium. They also have fresh root beer and plenty of local VT beer on tap!
A frequent lunch spot for us - make sure to read the heat meter before trying all the hot sauces. (You have been warned...)
If you want to bring home the best of VT beer, stop at the cellar before you leave.
Start your taste of Vermont tour with some ice cream!
Want to try all of the cheeses, for free? Make sure to stop! Smugglers Notch Distillery is also next door in case you get thirsty.
Located in the same area as the Cabot Farmer's Store, swing by for coffee and delicious handmade treats.
Cider donuts anyone? Get all of your Vermont-y delicious treats here, plus there is a wine tasting room across the parking lot...
Try to get a seat in the back patio to enjoy some delicious food and brews.
The hills are alive! This place holds many special memories for the Cox and Lewis families and is a beautiful area to explore with acres of hiking and biking trails. Plus they just finished their new beer hall which is a short drive from the hotel - so if you want some authentic schnitzel and Austrian-inspired beer make sure to stop by.
Our top choice for a night out for a special occasion. Delicious craft cocktails and farm to table menu that changes daily. Make a reservation in advance if you can, but if you get a spot at the bar overlooking the chef's line be prepared to be mesmerized!
Visit the heart of Burlington - the hub of shopping, food, and activity for the city! Restaurants we love: Daily Planet, Pizzeria Verita, Leunig's, & Honey Road. Try the Whiskey Room or Juniper if you are looking for an epic cocktail.
Pine street is full of art studios and great places to eat and drink - it was where V first lived when she moved to Burlington. You'll find Zero Gravity Brewery, Queen City Brewery, Pizza 44, and Great Northern which are all adjacent to one another and are frequent haunts of John & V. Lake Champlain Chocolates offers free chocolate tastings most days and is a favorite stop of V's father. Citizen Cider is less than a mile down the road and they offer excellent grub as well. Plus if you are in the mood for a great bagel sandwich try Feldman's (NY style) or Myer's (Montreal style) Bagels.
Take in all the activity along the Burlington waterfront, and make sure you get a creamy (aka soft-serve ice cream for non-Vermonters). Skinny Pancake is a quintessential Burlington eatery - delicious crepes and VT beer - located across from the park.
Southern hospitality in the northeast. Downtown Montpelier, delicious food and excellent service. Veronica used to stop by on her way back to Burlington from Admissions travel - the fried chicken and waffles with cornbread are A+.
The best ratio when comparing hiking exertion vs. view! Just over 1 mile will offer beautiful views of the Adirondacks mountains and Lake Champlain. You can also drive up! Improve your experience by purchasing some Folino's Pizza and Shelburne Vineyard wine or Fiddlehead Beer (only a few miles down the road) and enjoy it at the summit. Cookie Love is a delicious reward once you get to the bottom - fresh baked cookies and creemes are only a couple miles away.
