First of, we wanted to check in and let you know your health and safety are our top priority, which is why we have decided to move our wedding to Summer 2021. We hope you’ll save our new date—you can RSVP anytime on our website. For all travel-related orders and regulations please visit the Travel page of our website. Wishing you all health and safety, and looking forward to celebrating together!
No. Everything you need to know is in our wedding website—your go-to resource with all the important wedding info just a click away.
Officially our RSVPs are due July 1st but the real answer to this question is the sooner the better. This will give you enough time to book your flights, pack your bags and get to Greece just in time for the big day. Don't forget to double check your passport's up to date.
We've planned a bunch of stuff (read: food and booze and beach parties) throughout the wedding weekend so check the schedule to make sure you don't miss out.
We're having a very small, intimate wedding with our actual nearest and dearest. Not to mention the COVID-19 restrictions. If your invitation says “and Guest,” then yes, if not, we would prefer if it was just you.
Cocktail, please. But we want you to feel comfortable, so if those shoes are too high or that top button is too tight, let it all hang loose. This is an island wedding after all.
Summer is hot: in July and August, the average maximum temperature is 31/32 °C (88/90 °F), but on hotter periods it can easily rise to around 35/36 °C (95/97 °F). Have a beer, wear sunscreen, get in the water—that's what you're here for!
No need! Hotels in the Drios area are a 3-minute walk to the ceremony and the reception site. It is a straight shot down the same street, and they are less than a block apart.
To be on the safe side we'd recommend you avoid driving unless absolutely necessary. But if you must, then yes—there's a free public parking lot right across the street from the church and the reception site.
This is a very joyous day for us, but we are sure you will appreciate that it is also a very solemn and sacred occasion. Out of respect for other guests and the bride and groom we ask you to please be mindful of any talking/whispering, crying/restless children, mobile phones and photography during the ceremony. This will only hurt a little as the nuptials take 30 minutes or so.
Your presence is the best gift we hope to receive. Seriously! But in case you're feeling super generous please check out our registry page—we hope this will make it more convenient for you to select something that you know we'll love. One more thing: Please do not plan to bring a gift with you. Flying with gifts can be extremely complicated due to airport security regulations, weight limits, voltage differences etc. Most importantly we would hate to risk your gift breaking or being damaged before we get it home to Chicago.
Here's a fun fact: Withdrawing cash from a foreign ATM often saves you money versus exchanging currency in your home country. (Other fees may apply from your bank and ATM operator.) Now that we got that out of the way, the nearest ATM is conveniently located in the center of Drios, right outside of the Anoussakis Market. Alternatively, visit that of Piraeus Bank in Piso Livadi. Looking for a National Bank of Greece ATM? Head to Marpissa for all your cash withdrawal needs. Both are open 24/7.
Parian water tastes great and we've been drinking it for years. Unfortunately it's been found high in dissolved minerals, which means that even though it can be used for cooking, brushing your teeth etc, it'd be preferable if you didn't drink it. It won't kill you or anything but to be on the safe side the simple answer is to always drink bottled water by default. But please be mindful with those plastic water bottles—we don't need more plastic in our oceans!
Lost, confused or don't know what to wear? Call us up or text. You can even shoot us an email. But whatever you do please DO NOT wait till the day of—we're gonna be busy walking down the aisle. Duh!
