Rough Creek Lodge and Resort
10,000 acres is a room for a lot of adventures. Rough Creek Lodge has packed every inch with activities to appeal to everyone. Take a wild ride on the zip lines, do some fishing, go on a nature hike, play some pickle ball and basketball, go canoeing, try out the archery & air rifles. Rough Creek has many more activities available included within the accommodation package. Other activities with additional charges include horseback riding, guided fishing and golfing. Fossil Rim Wildlife Center
Fossil Rim Wildlife Center is about a 20-minute drive from Rough Creek Lodge and allows visitors to drive through the park to see endangered animals. It is almost like a drive through zoo. It takes approximately two hours. You can get out of your vehicle roughly halfway through at the Overlook to stretch and use the restroom. The paved route has two lanes and you can pull over on the right side whenever you want to stop at watch certain animals for a while. The Behind-The-Scenes Guided Tour lasts about three hours. Tickets can be purchased online at the Fossil Rim Wildlife Center or through Rough Creek Lodge as an additional charge.
Dinosaur Valley State Park
Do Dinosaurs fascinate you? Today, you can walk in their tracks in the bed of the Paluxy River here in Glen Rose. Dinosaur Valley State Park is approximately a 20-minute drive from Rough Creek Lodge where you can find dinosaur tracks, have a picnic, go hiking or mountain biking, and fish in the river. Admission tickets can be purchased online at the Dinosaur Valley State Park link or can be included as an additional charge to your accommodation reservation with Rough Creek Lodge.
Squaw Valley Golf Course
For the golf playing folks, Squaw Valley Golf Course is home to 36 holes of Championship Golf, just 15-minutes from Rough Creek Lodge. Consistently rated as one of the top courses in the State and features beautiful vistas of century old Oak trees and Squaw Creek that meanders through the course.
