Nine years ago we used to say a quick hello to each other most days passing in the gym, not knowing we’d end up spending the rest of our lives together. One day I finally went over to speak to Vanessa, mostly wondering where she was from and, of course, if she’d go on a date with me. After a slightly awkward introduction and a bit of chatting, I was pretty happy to walk away having bagged myself a date. A week later we were having burritos at Dee Why Beach, which we still go to today. After that day we were pretty much inseparable, and not long after I knew I wanted to marry her. A year later I asked her to marry me in Scotland. So aye, after 8 years of being engaged, here we are, finally ready to tie the knot. * Hace nueve años, casi a diario, nos cruzábamos en el gimnasio. Una semana después estábamos comiendo burritos en Dee Why Beach, un lugar al que seguimos yendo hasta el día de hoy. Desde entonces fuimos prácticamente inseparables, y no pasó mucho tiempo antes de que supiera que quería pasar el resto de mi vida con ella. Un año después le pedí matrimonio en Escocia. Y así, después de ocho años de compromiso, aquí estamos, por fin listos para dar el “sí”.
