Wedding Party

The Wedding Website of Meg Vandehey and Alex Munson
These are all the amazing humans standing by our side on our big day. These are the people who've laughed with us, cried with us, supported us, and maybe even helped us survive wedding planning (seriously thank you). We're so lucky to have each of them in our lives and we couldn't do this day without them!

Bridesmaids

......................................................

These are the women who’ve been there through every laugh, tear, and late night heart-to-heart. From childhood friends to chosen sisters, each one holds a special place in Meg’s story. Below are the briefest descriptions of these incredible women written by Meg in attempt to explain just how much they mean to her!

Maiya Jonas

Maid of Honor

Maiya is my soul sister. There is absolutely no doubt that this girl was put into my life for a reason and I have no idea what I did to deserve her but she is the true embodiment of chosen family. She has been there for me through every single thing life has thrown my way and held my head up through it all. After picking her up for school every day of my sophomore year, I moved to Wausau West and sadly away from my Mai. We stayed in touch and actually made random road trip plans a couple years later. Who knew a random road trip to South Dakota would bring us so much closer and change us forever. After that trip, we spent every second we had off together. We have gone on so many trips and adventures that I never stop talking about and somethings I will never be able to talk about until my death bed. I cannot say thank you enough to this beautiful lady for everything she does for me and I could not walk down the aisle without her!

Destiny Kolve

Bridesmaid

I am so honored to call Destiny my new sister. She has been out to visit us in Colorado 4 times already and that number will only go up. She is such a wholesome and beautiful woman. I appreciate her so much for making me feel so welcomed into my new family. I look forward to every time she comes out to visit and we have made so many memories that I will cherish forever. She has been such a huge help with the wedding planning, and I cannot thank her enough for assisting me with all my detail questions (seriously how are there so many fonts). I truly appreciate her more than words can explain.

Amber Edington

Bridesmaid

Amber and I became the best of friends through trauma bonding. We both worked the 4am opening shifts at Dunkin Donuts and bonded through our caffeine addictions. During my time living in Eau Claire we really grew close and spent almost every second of free time together either cooking, playing games or watching our favorite shows (shoutout to Tammy on 1000 lbs sisters) I probably should have paid Amber rent with how much I was at her house but all of the late nights and deep talks will hold the most special part in my heart (and my hips will forever hold the Domninos Lava Crunch cakes). She has supported me through so many ups and downs including helping me move a time or two. I cannot say enough great things about this beautiful soul and we are so blessed to have her be a part of our big day.

Becca Johnson

Bridesmaid

Becca has been one of my closest friends since birth. We grew up thinking we were cousins and that may have been my first heartbreak finding out we were not in fact related. Although we have never lived in the same state, we have remained the best of friends. We have traveled together and maybe a little too hungover a time or two (RIP our Colorado flights). We have gone to a few concerts together, girls trips, attempting to snowboard together (one of us may have got a concussion and one may have shredded, I won't name names as I may not remember who was who) and endless laughs. Becca has a heart of gold and truly brightens any room she walks into. I am so grateful to have her by my side on our big day!

Anna Faucett

Bridesmaid

Anna is my girl for any adventure. From concerts to sporting events, you will find Anna by my side. Many times our travels included both. My favorite thing about Anna is she is always there to support no matter what, sometimes booking a flight to Colorado to leave in less than 24 hours. We've been known to have good time from tailgating at Brewers games together to getting an ID taken away at Stadium View. We have been to almost every sporting event possible and will only continue to add more to the list. I am so grateful to have such a great human being in my life who is down for anything and always the most positive and supportive to both Alex and I.

Groomsman

......................................................

These are the Alex's closest friends and family—trusted people who’ve shared in his journey. They're here to support, celebrate, and stand by his side on one of the biggest days of his life. Below Alex wrote some kind words about each of these people.

Tyler Munson

Best Man

"T-Munny" Tyler is my younger (and only slightly taller) brother. For almost 30 years Tyler has been a role model, confidant, and rock to our family - especially to me. Figuring out how to navigate life can feel impossible but with you by my side, it feels easy. Tyler is a man who takes life by the horns and can still find the joy in every day. Tyler will be splitting his time between being Best Man and bouncing unruly guests. Don't make him angry - you won't like him when he's angry.

Jake Nesbit

Groomsman

"The Ginger" Jake is by far the longest friendship I've had. We met in 2003, both tiny tots at Parkview Elementary School. We became fast friends as saxophone players in middle/high school and have shared hundreds of memories since. Jake has always been an inspiration to me. We are both fiercely competitive and bring out the best in each other (and sometimes the worst). In my opinion, everybody needs a friend like Jake in their life. Someone to push you to your limits but always have your back. Jake moonlights as a professional breakdancer and loves to show off to a crowd. For best results; provide him with a whiskey drink, a pat on his red-head, and a crisp high five (DUDE HIGH FIVE).

Jesse Monson

Groomsman

"The Other Monson aka J-Money" Jesse is my "brother from another mother" - almost literally. I met Jesse in 2016 and was surprised to find his similar last name. Since then, it's been our tradition to argue who is the "right Monson/Munson", but we will let our guests decide for themselves. Jesse is an inspiration, a man of resilience and positivity. While I refuse to give him the crown of the best "Mu(o)nson", I must admit that he keeps the competition challenging. Stay tuned for the Munson/Monson collaboration album, for sale at the bar. Do not challenge this man in 2K - you will lose. Also bar darts. Also Overwatch. Better yet, just assume Jesse is better than you at most games.

Jayden Kowalski

Groomsman

“J Peso” Jayden is Meg’s older brother. As a car enthusiast and small business owner, we admire how hardworking and handy he is. From summers on Lake Nakomis to Christmas in Tomahawk, every moment we get with Jayden ends up becoming a great memory. We appreciate all the love and support he has given us through our relationship. Fun Fact: Jayden is getting promoted to Dad status in 2026. We are incredibly happy for him and know he is going to be a great Dad! We love you Jayden!

Dana Vaughan

Groomswoman

"The Girl One" Dana is such a special person to us. I first met Dana in college when we both spent the summer cleaning on-campus apartments and went on to work at Qdoba. Outside of her infectious, positive personality, it turns out Dana was good at pretty much anything she set out to do - much to my chagrin. Her adventurousness and can-do attitude is something that we look up to and reinforces our world view. Fun Fact - Dana and her partner, Taylor, got to witness my "first proposal" to Meg! It was at a Dave and Buster's and the "ring" was a beautiful RingPop cut with Cherry clarity.

Something Blue Crew

......................................................

These women hold a unique place in Meg's heart. They’re being honored in a special way by wearing their favorite shade of blue on our big day. Each one has played a meaningful role in her life, offering love, support, and unforgettable memories. Their presence (and a pop of blue) brings extra joy and a personal touch to this celebration.

Hannah Munson

Something Blue Crew

Hannah was one of the first people in Alex's family that I had the opportunity to meet. She is so welcoming and such a kind person. We had the chance to travel to Arizona together and see the Grand Canyon for Alex and I's first time. We hiked and explored everything Arizona had to offer. I value the moments back at the Airbnb and late-night conversations the most. The entire trip was a blast and since then I have only grown to love and adore Hannah more. She is such a magnificent human being inside and out and I am so very blessed to have her as a something blue and soon to be sister.

Alanna Schubring

Something Blue Crew

Alanna and I's first interaction is definitely a memorable one. At the time we both worked at Associated Bank but in different markets. My lovely father Tom was facetiming me as I was sick with Covid to check up on me but also wanted to introduce me to the great teller at the Wausau location, so with that my face was pressed up to the drive thru glass to meet our lovely Alanna. The best part is months later I would transfer to that exact branch location and become the best of friends with our lovely Alanna. She is the whole reason I survived that job and a big part of why Alex and I ended up falling in love. There may have been a couple vault room confessions that I could never speak about to this day but I cannot thank her enough for being such a supportive friend to both Alex and I. #JasonDeruloForever

Desirae Davidson

Something Blue Crew

Des and I started off strong with our bond through our traumatic bond of the same basketball team in high school. (MHS kids iykyk) Our tears really brought us closer and really built a connection for life. One on of our many adventures we ended up in Colorado and I had the opportunity to really get to know this incredible girl. She never fails to make me laugh. She really is the embodiment of the happiness and joy. Des has been so supportive of Alex and I. She has been such a blessing during wedding planning, helping me every step of the way. I appreciate the incredible human she is, and I am so blessed to call her one of my best friends.

Alleah Schmidt

Something Blue Crew

The one thing Ulta beauty did absolutely right was randomly assigning the incredible Alleah Schmidt to be my stylist in high school. From day one I saw Alleah was such a beautiful and strong human being. After that we only grew closer and Alleah is truly one of my biggest support systems. We talk every single day to keep up with each other and support in any way we can. I am so incredibly blessed to also have her talents on our big day! Shameless plug: if you would like to have your hair done by an absolute professional please message me and we can get you set up with Alleah for a style!

Parents

......................................................

Where to begin? This would not be possible without them. They are the foundation of love, support, and guidance that brought us to this day. These remarkable parents have shaped who we are and surrounded us with unwavering encouragement every step of the way. Below Meg and Alex wrote about their parents-

Thomas Vandehey

Father of the Bride

Papa Tom is the kind of guy that you cannot explain in one paragraph. My dad has truly gone to the ends of the earth to make sure that I am happy and loved. I could never thank him enough for all of the sacrifices he's made for me and all of the rushed meetings to get to my games to show his support. Everyone that gets the pleasure of meeting him is truly enriched by his presence and his never-ending positive attitude. The word "try" does not exist to this man. Papa Tom has been one of our biggest supporters from the start and his relationship with Mama B is something we look up to and strive for daily. They have a love like no other and its a blessing to have parents who care for each other the way they do, they set a great example for Alex and I moving forward. I love you so much Dad!

Brenda Vandehey

Mother of the Bride

I needed absolutely no convincing when I was introduced to the lovely Brenda Lee. From telling Papa Tom "I think you should date her" to standing up as her maid of honor at their wedding she has had my back through thick and thin. She took me to all my doctors appointments and did all the girly shopping and nails that I didn't experience before. She even covered herself in cat treats and went out in the rain to search for our Denny when he got out on a road trip (our mailman thought she was doing a seance haha!). Although I met Brenda Lee when I was 8, I do not remember a time without her as my loving mom. She truly has stepped up and been such a blessing in my life. I could never thank her enough for all of the things she does for me. I love you so much Mama B!

Angie Yost

Mother of the Groom

Angie is the proud mother of the groom, Alex. Having to wrangle two headstrong boys on a daily basis wasn’t easy, but she passed along great virtues of empathy, resilience, and patience along the way. She has treasured every moment of watching him grow into the wonderful man he is. Angie is very happy to call Meg her newest daughter. She has seen their loving connection and knows they are building a strong future together. She looks forward to celebrating this special day and seeing the happy couple begin their married life.

Marty Munson

Father of the Groom

Marty is the proud father of the groom, Alex. From late nights watching old reruns of Scooby Doo, to getting vertigo at the Vikings game, he has treasured every moment of watching him grow into the wonderful man he is. Marty is very happy to welcome Meg into the Munson clan. He has seen their loving connection and knows they are building a strong future together. He looks forward to celebrating this special day and seeing the happy couple begin their married life.
