Our Story

From the Midwest to the Mountains

We first met at a Chippewa Valley Bankers meeting in Eau Claire, WI. Alex had just transferred from Green Bay, and Meg had recently been promoted. Though we barely spoke, Alex remembers Meg being quiet (a rare moment) and Meg remembers Alex being friendly and encouraging. It was the first of many small overlaps in our lives. Later, when Alex had a family emergency, Meg stepped in to help cover at his branch during his absence. Looking back, it's funny how many times our paths crossed without really connecting until we both ended up at the same branch in Wausau on Stewart Avenue. Alex’s new role involved a lot of community networking, which quickly became a perfect excuse to spend more time with Meg. Over coffee meetings and wine nights at Vino Latte, we developed a close friendship that would soon become the foundation for everything that followed. As our connection grew, so did the whispers at work. Even though we worked in different departments, we knew dating could be a gray area (we like to think we inspired a later HR handbook update). But it was worth the risk. One October day, Meg mentioned she wanted to see a concert. Alex jumped at the chance, buying two tickets on the spot, even though he thought Zach Bryan was Bryan Adams. That night turned into something neither of us expected. From that moment on, our journey took off - Packer games, road trips, grill out nights, moving in together, and creating a home filled with love, laughter, and lots of game nights. A trip eventually led us to Colorado, where we fell in love with the mountain lifestyle and decided to make it our home. In August, during what Meg thought was just a birthday trip to Grand Lake, Alex asked her to take a little walk by the lake before dinner. Despite the chilly weather and Meg’s strong determination to wear jeans and not a dress, Alex got down on one knee and she said yes! (And yes, the photographer was hiding in the bushes and yes, she eventually wore the dress after multiple discussions of what the walk involved.) Now we live in Loveland, CO, surrounded by everything we love the mountains, breweries, and our little cat family. We’re so excited to celebrate this next chapter with all of you!

Thank You

To our incredible family and friends, Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We know that traveling, taking time off work, and investing your time and resources to celebrate with us is no small ask, and we are so grateful for the love and support you've shown us. It would mean the world to have you here in Colorado, a place that’s become such an important part of our story and our hearts. We hope you enjoy everything this beautiful state has to offer—the mountains, the sunshine, the fresh air, and the little adventures around every corner. Your presence truly makes this celebration complete, and we can't wait to share these memories with you. Thank you for being part of our journey. We love you all! With love, Meg & Alex
