Although the summer season may be winding down, we highly encourage our guests to go experience & enjoy the beaches of the vineyard, as they are some of the most amazing beaches in the country. Below is a list of a few of our favorite spots. The Flying Horses Carousel is the oldest carousel in the United States. Built in 1876 in Coney Island and later moved to Oak Bluffs. The carousel is one of only a handful of carousels that still have brass rings for a rider to attempt to grab as the carousel rotates.
Named for its appearance in the movie Jaws, filmed on Martha’s Vineyard. the bridge is located on Beach Rd connecting Edgartown and Oak Bluffs. both kids and adults make their summer splash by jumping off of Jaws Bridge. The bridge is located on State Beach. the beach is open to the public - beach pass not required!
Menemsha is a historic fishing village in the town of Chilmark, which is known for its fresh seafood and incredible sunsets. Parking is limited and time-bound (2 hours), but Menemsha is worth the trip. If you come with an appetite, do yourself a favor and stop by Larsen's Fish Market, where you can grab a quick lobster roll, chowder, smoked bluefish, and more.
The Vineyard is home to over 40 farms and many different local businesses. West Tisbury's farmers market is dedicated to bringing local agricultural products to the people both living on and visiting the Island. The market was started in 1974 by a group of Island growers, andd occurs every Saturday morning in September. Restrooms and free parking available. No dogs allowed. No smoking.
Some of our favorite hiking trails offer are leisurely year-round paths that lead to vistas, wetlands, and beautiful beachfronts. The following trails are some of our favorites, and easy for hikers of every level to enjoy. Menemsha Hills Reservation - in Chilmark (Menemsha) (Distance: 3 miles) Long Point Wildlife Refuge - in West Tisbury (Distance: 2.1 mile loop) Felix Neck Wildlife Sanctuary - in Edgartown (Distance: 4 miles)
Food & Drink: some of our favorite spots in Aquinnah - Outermost Inn (this is where we got engaged) - Orange Peel Bakery Aquinnah Cliffs & Shops: Come here to explore the lower beach paths to see the cliffs up close and stretch along the sands at Moshup Beach. You can also take the upper trails to the top of the cliffs to catch a glimpse of Gay Head Lighthouse and nearby Elizabeth Islands from the Overlook. There are several vendors adjacent to the Overlook, offering souvenirs and light refreshments. Aquinnah Cultural Center: The Aquinnah Cultural Center is located on the same land as the Vanderhoop Homestead and is an independent non-profit organization that aims to maintain diverse tribal activities.

Food & Drink: Some of our favorite spots on the island are in Oak Bluffs - Nancy's - Sand Bar - Giordano's Restaurant - Tigerhawk - Back Door Donuts - Noman's (Brewery) The Gingerbread Cottages: A famous landmark of Martha's Vineyard and great place to start any island tour - the Gingerbread Houses. Walk around Ocean Park and grab a bite to eat on Circuit Ave before admiring the views on the drive back to Edgartown on Beach Road! Farm Neck Golf Club: One of the few courses on island, a great place to play a quick round and enjoy sunset views of Cow Bay!

Food & Drink: Some of our favorite spots in Edgartown - The Seafood Shanty - The Port Hunter - Bad Martha Farmers Brewery - Morning Glory Farm (fresh island produce) Shopping: Edgartown is known for its Jaws-dropping beaches, lighthouses, white clapboard mansions, restaurants, and stores. Chappaquiddick Island: From Edgartown, you can take the Chappy Ferry to Chappaquiddick island, which offers bikeable beaches and a wildlife refuge.
