My name is Sharifa and I’m incredibly honored to be witnessing the union of my best friends. I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Alexis for 10 years and our friendship has been a constant source of joy in my life. We met in college and since then, we’ve shared countless laughs, adventures, and heart-to-heart conversations. I met Alexis my second year in college at Biola University. I remember I was walking back to my dorm after classes. To get to my dorm you had to pass the school’s cafeteria. I just remember a voice shouting so boldly “Hey! Are you from Africa?” And I looked up slightly taken aback why someone would shout that! I answered “yes”, and I as I looked up I saw a beautiful girl beaming with smile on her face. After acknowledging her I went about my day. In the next few days I remember visiting another one of our best friends, Benita in her dorm, and there was the girl who was shouted at me. I learned her name was Alexis and she was a new friend to Benita. That night, we laughed nonstop, and the rest, as they say, is history! I’m beyond grateful to stand beside my best friend as she commits her life to Uzoma, in front of all of us and God. Congratulations, best friend! I love you both and am so excited for this next chapter in your lives.

I’m family to my wonderful cuz Omoghene, I live in Houston and I love okra soup. August of 2024, I was in the Irvine area and Patrick and I were able to hangout, we bowled had a nice brunch where we spoke about life, relationships /marriage and how he thought California was better than Texas- no way, I will not agree to such things. We then drove down the coast to Laguna beach- listening to 50 cent, Tupac and Kendrick Lamar (I think he was trying to sell me on this place) an unforgettable moment. We spent an afternoon in Laguna beach where we saw tons of MAGA hats and American flags lol He kept saying “see there’s no place like this.” He almost had me until I saw the price for food and parking. Safe to say the guy is very cool, fun and levelheaded and I’m glad to call him family. Abeg, there’s no place like TEJAS! Love yall cheers

Mercy (preferably Mers/Aanu) is a creative (writer, visual artist, and singer) at night and a dedicated caseworker for hospitals (organizing discharge planning for geriatric and peds patients) by night. She and Alexis/Omoghéne met as singers within a Christian organization called Revcon Movement over seven years ago. They have been friends ever since, making sure to stay connected through their shared love for God, love for people, and love for the arts. Her favorite memory with the bride is getting to watch her perform her own original music for the first time and meeting every year at their shared favorite restaurants Olive Garden to celebrate each other‘s birthdays. Mercy has gotten to see the bride and groom blossom and grow in their love since the beginning and is happy to serve as a bridesmaid on their special day.

I have always been the fairly quiet one, reserved and to myself. I would rather be reading than talking to most people. But Alexis always tried to get that out of me! Always so full of energy, she brings excitement and fun everywhere. A couple of my favorite memories are Alexis chasing me down the school halls and shouting my name, and of course, celebrating her mother’s wedding. Although I was vegan at the time and I couldn’t eat any of the food!

I’m Stephen Nnaji, a real estate/I.T professional based in Houston Texas. Patrick (the groom) and I met back in undergrad (Engineering department of the University of Lagos) 25yrs ago and have been brothers ever since. We’ve shared lots of great and also challenging times coming up and we’ve been there for each other in those times, it’s been a blessing to have such friendships that exemplify the true definition of brotherhood. One of my many favorite moments since we met was on our road trip from Houston to Dallas for a friend’s wedding , we talked about the importance of finding the right person and also to let God lead in that regard. The groom of that wedding is also a groomsman here today and we’re all here to confirm once again that he who finds a wife finds a good thing. Onyema Louis Akabuogu is a quiet, calm and unassuming individual. I do appear stand-offish but that's a sharp contrast to my personality. I am fascinated by numbers and the logic behind most things. Perhaps, the reason i love tge harmony in music, arts and nature. The groom and I were freshmen in Unilag when we met. We sat together in class in one of those general courses in Engineering school then and that was how we started as friends till date. Back in part 3 cos we stayed in the same room in the same hostel, we had an issue with some guy named Malik a week to our second semester exams. That matter escalated quickly to the school security department where Malik was subsequently detained. I remember the groom calling me aside to ask me to recuse myself from the matter if it further escalated and all. Thank God it didn't. Always looking out for his homeboys, that's Patrick for you!

My name is Afolabi, popularly called Afo. I am a proud Lagos bred boy and my hobbies are reading and I enjoy movies and documentaries. I can say I have known Patrick 90% of my life, we attended Primary, Secondary School and University together. Patrick's dependability, honesty and loyalty should be a world record. I have a lot of good memories with Patrick and his intelligence has always been top notch. He just needs to look at a book like Mike Ross (Patrick J Adams) in "Suits" and he knows everything in the book. When it came to being an intelligent student in High School Patrick was my role model. During university days after I bungled my first year first semester exams, Patrick arranged a hostel room accommodation just opposite his room for me and this pretty much was the first step in drawing back my university grades from the Lagos Lagoon. I wish him a blissful marriage with lots of twins
