“Aso-ebi" is a Yoruba word meaning "family cloth" or "family outfit," and it represents a tradition of family and friends wearing matching fabrics during significant events, signifying unity and solidarity.
We’ve chosen a beautiful Teal blue Asoebi fabric for our wedding guests, and it would mean so much if you considered wearing it. Most guests will wear theirs on August 29, 2025 for the traditional Nigerian Wedding, but you’re welcome to wear it on the 30th if you prefer.
Of course, it’s completely optional to wear Asoebi – your presence alone is enough! If you’d like to join in, check out the Asoebi material purchase link below. The purchase deadline is April30, 2025.
We realized that this is a lot people’s first time wearing Asoebi so we have provided some guidance on the process, design ideas and recommended tailors to choose from once your material arrives to you. Looking forward to celebrating with you!
