Wedding Day Shuttle Service From the Howard Johnson to/from the Ceremony and Reception

• There is parking available at St. Joseph's Church and The Newport Naval Officer's Club • Complimentary shuttle service will be provided for all guests to use if desired • Shuttle service will pickup/drop-off from the Howard Johnson hotel and be accessible within walking distance from hotels listed below: Howard Johnson; 351 W Main Rd., Middletown, RI 02842 Residence Inn; 325 W Main Rd., Middletown, RI 02842 Hampton Inn; 317 W Main Rd., Middletown, RI 02842 Homewood Suites; 348 W Main Rd., Middletown, RI 02842 Guests not staying at the above hotels can still take advantage of the shuttle service by driving to the pickup location and parking in the adjacent West Marine parking lot (379 W Main Rd., Middletown, RI 02842) on the north side of the Howard Johnson. Please try to park closest to the Howard Johnson or closest to the Highway if feasible. Vehicles ARE permitted to be left overnight in this parking lot. Shuttle Schedule: Two buses will be running throughout the day. They will be taking guests to St. Joseph's for the Ceremony, from St. Josephs to The Officer's Club, and then making return trips back to the hotel(s) later in the evening with stops Downtown. Below is the schedule with specific shuttle times: 3:15PM—Bus 1 and 2 will arrive and begin boarding at the Howard Johnson 3:30PM—Bus 1 and 2 depart the Howard Johnson for St. Joseph's 5:15/5:20PM—Bus 1 and 2 depart St. Joseph's for the Officer's Club 10:00PM—Bus 1 makes an early return trip from the Officer's Club back to the Howard Johnson 11:15PM—Bus 1 and 2 depart the Officer's Club 11:25PM—Bus 1 and 2 make a stop in downtown Newport before continuing on back to hotel(s) 11:40PM—Bus 1 and 2 arrive back at the Howard Johnson 11:45PM—Bus 1 returns downtown for final late night pickup and return to hotel(s) ~1:00AM—Bus 1 return trip to Howard Johnson

UPDATE as of 7/30/23: 12 more rooms have become available at our original block rates. The rates are as follows: $209.00 for Thursday and $299.00 for Friday and Saturday. You must call the local number above and provide the block code “URNTWD” to receive these rates. Shuttle service will be provided to the ceremony and directly continuing onto the reception, along with transportation back to the hotel from the reception.

Newport Harbor Island Resort
This resort is not only waterfront, but it is within walking distance to downtown Newport! The hotel also offers a free shuttle to downtown. With the “Stay longer, Save more” promotion, a King bed room for three nights (9/7-9/10 with taxes included) is $1,423.00, which is cheaper than what the Hampton Inn is currently charging for the like. The same deal for a room with 2 double beds is $1,496.99 and $1,587.39 for two queen beds.

Shuttle service will be provided to the ceremony and directly continuing onto the reception, along with transportation back to the hotel from the reception.

This hotel is conveniently located directly behind the Hampton Inn and directly next to the Howard Johnson so it is also walking distance to and from the shuttle bus for the wedding.

This hotel is directly across the street from the Howard Johnson and the Hampton Inn where the shuttle bus will be servicing. While the hotel would not allow us to secure a room block, this may be a great option for small groups of guests wanting to stay together.

This is another more affordable option in close proximity to all the wedding festivities. Unfortunately, room blocks are unavailable here, but if we have enough guests stay here, then we can have the shuttle service this hotel as well.

PVD is certainly the closest and preferable airport for travel to Newport, RI (~30 miles). Be sure to check Southwest and JetBlue into PVD!

Important Considerations
Please note that the town streets are very small and public parking is very limited. We have attached a link to a local cab company. Uber and Lyft are also available for transportation to wedding events or sightseeing in town. However, please keep in mind that taxis or ride sharing drivers will not be allowed onto the Naval base, where the reception is being held. Should you choose to take one of these forms of transit, you will have to be dropped off at the Naval base gate and walk ~270 yards to the reception venue. *All guests must bring a photo ID with them in order to enter the Naval Base.*
