With so much to do in downtown Kansas City, our recommendation would be staying somewhere on or near the streetcar. This allows for easy access to free public transportation, however if you do stay elsewhere there is ample space across the Crossroads, Power & Light, and River Market districts for you to park a vehicle.
The World Cup ends in mid-July which means there should be plenty of time for surge pricing to die down and affordable hotel or AirBNB options to be booked. At this time, we do not have a block of hotel rooms booked and apologize for any inconvenience!
