What should I wear?

Answer

Lightweight fabrics for the heat, bright colors, formal attire for ceremonies, South Indian wear is encouraged (sarees, vaashtis) or other Indian clothes especially for the less formal ceremony (lehengas, cholis, salwars, kurtas). Please avoid tops in red, black, or white on the day of the wedding; pants in those colors are fine.

What colors can I wear?

Answer

We encourage you to wear bright colors as that signifies joy and celebration in India. Avoid red on the wedding day, and black or white tops (pants okay) for either ceremony. Try to wear bright colors

Why don't we wear shoes at the wedding venue?

Answer

The marudhani and wedding ceremonies will take place inside Uji's family's ancestral home. Shoes are not worn inside homes in India.

What will we be eating and where?

Answer

Uji and her dad have curated a delicious buffet style menu with an array of options avoiding common allergens (Sam's) such as shellfish and nuts. There are both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options and most of the menu, aside from dessert is vegan. At Tamilian weddings it is traditional to eat meals with your right hand on a banana leaf. Aside from meals in the dining hall, we will also have tea time and some of Sam and Uji's favorite fruit treats!
