This is a Tacoma classic. This area is right on the waterfront with a walking path along the water and lots of activities, food, and shops. It also has a beautiful view of Mt. Rainier on a nice day!
One thing I definitely recommend for those who have never visited Washington is to take a ferry ride to one of the many islands in the area! I grew up going to the islands multiple times a year and the ferry rides there were always one of my favorite parts. Bainbridge island has lots of shops pubs, breweries, gardens, and food! It has a beautiful view of Seattle and the Puget Sound as well. The ferry to get there leaves out of Seattle.
This is an amazing spot for fun shopping, dining, wineries and beautiful views of the water. This Island is closer to Tacoma area and the ferry leaves out of Point Defiance in Tacoma. It is a beautiful spot to spend time and see some of the hidden gems in Washington!
Mt. Rainier is the tallest mountain in Washington and is simply incredible. There are hundreds of hikes inside the park as well as outside the park. It doesn't get much better than this! It is truly what makes the Pacific Northwest so special.
If you've never been to Washington, this is a classic tourist spot downtown Seattle. It is on the waterfront with lots of different markets, shops, fresh seafood from the Pacific, coffee, flowers, and more. Definitely a must see!
Super fun area downtown Tacoma by the waterfront. This place is a great place to hang out with friends and grab a quick bite or drink. If you have never been to a McMenamins, it is a chain on the west coast and what makes it unique is that each restaurant has a completely different theme. This one is extra special because it is not just one restaurant but 6 different restaurant/bars, all in the same building, and all with different themes!
