Jean Sulzer
Mother of the Groom
This "Little Red Hen" not only has a huge heart and is the glue of the Sulzer family, but she is also a fierce advocate in her community. Jean currently leads her local indigenious group in Fernie, BC in resource negotiations with government entities and large mining corporations to protect the interests of the Metis people. Tyrel's love of business was inspired by Jean's intellectual curiosity, astute real estate investments and financial acumen. Jean's love and support is felt by everyone she knows.
Darlene Jeris
Mother of the Bride
Darlene is a force of nature and is always looking for a way to help others. Darlene’s most recent role has been as a behavioral therapist, counseling people virtually during the pandemic. But Darlene has had a multitude of careers including as an investment banker (think Leo in Wolf of Wall Street) and running a non profit in the south Bronx helping women who had dropped out of school get their high school equivalency degree. Darlene and Julia have travelled together extensively, and she will always be Julia’s favorite adventure buddy.
John Loughlin
Father of the Bride
A little known fact is that John built his Bodega Bay home over the last 4 years (or decades?) to host a wedding for Adam or Julia. His money was on Adam, but life is full of surprises. Outside of his part time job building the house, John is a master team builder and manager as CEO of Zenfolio. He is also one of the best writers and storytellers in the Loughlin clan. Watch out for his toast - he is a pretty spectacular orator. One of Tyrel's favorite parts about becoming part of the Loughlin family is that John is also an HBS alum (potential triple legacy children?). Julia's favorite memories with her dad include Christmas tree shopping every year and hiking as a family in Patagonia.
Gary Sulzer
Father of the Groom
We are stealing Gary's life motto for our wedding weekend, "Whoever has the most fun wins!". Gary is an avid outdoorsman, kayaker, and skiier (of both snow and sand). When not exploring the beautiful sites in Fernie, BC where he and Jean raised Tyrel, you can find Gary gliding down the Arizona dunes on his short skiis! Tyrel's fondest memories with his dad include their extensive roadtrips around Canada and the US and learning how to back country ski and make a fire in the bush.
Adam Loughlin
Brother of the Bride & Officiant
Adam is Julia's very large little brother. While the youngest of the Loughlin clan, Adam is perhaps the wisest. He is known for reminding us that "happiness is a choice" and that we should meditate every once in a while. He was an easy choice when it came to picking an officiant. When he isn't at the gym or hanging out with his lovely girlfriend Kate (we love you Kate!), Adam is hard at work in his new role at Bloomberg. Or making fun of Tyrel’s Nickleback obsession. Julia is really really really proud to be Adam’s sister.
