Trying the local wines, figs, olives, and olive oils in Hvar is a must! Local vineyards and wineries are a fun activity that we would love to explore with our guests. There are tours all over Hvar island that combine tasting with beautiful scenery.
Just offshore, the Pakleni archipelago is perfect for a day out — beaches, coves, swimming, snorkeling, good food in more laid-back settings than the main town. Tyler and Lexi would love to do a boat day with our guests before the wedding! Please reach out to us if you are coming in before the wedding and would like to be a part of this boat day! (Snorkeling equipment, skipper, gas and water is included for price of 75 Euros per person for 5 hours.)
Climb up to this old fort for sweeping views of Hvar Town, its harbor, and the Pakleni Islands. It’s a walk through charming old streets and beautiful gardens up the hill.
The cathedral is a Renaissance / Baroque style gem, and it sits in the heart of the main pedestrian square. It’s great for people watching, relaxing at cafés, and soaking in the vibe.
One of the oldest public theaters in Europe; the theater is part of the Arsenal in Hvar. It’s interesting both architecturally and historically.
Explore beaches like Bonj Beach, President Beach Podstine, Pokonji Dol Beach, Beach Kriza, and Beach Krizsna Luka. Some are more secluded and quiet; some more lively. In Hvar, the sea is everywhere and you can jump in wherever you want! Just beware of sea urchins in the rustic and wild areas. You can bring water shoes! All beaches are rocky and some are pebbled beaches.
Enjoy Hvar from the water at sunset. Sailing around gives you different perspectives, and viewing the town from the sea with the sunset is magical.
These are towns on the island (not far) that have quieter vibes, nice architecture, local life. If you have time, they are great for getting off the beaten path.
