An Outer Banks staple. Start your morning (or afternoon) off right with some delicious made-to-order cake donuts.
Kill Devil's Frozen Custard & Beach Fries
If you have a craving for frozen custard and boardwalk fries (complete with malt vinegar, yum!), look no further. This spot also has burgers, NC-style BBQ sandwiches, and hot dogs if you want a fast, easy meal.

North Carolina Aquarium on Roanoke Island

The Beach
The many beaches at the Outer Banks are some of our favorites. You can't go wrong spending a day enjoying the sand and surf. Also consider renting kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, or jet skis through one of the many water sports rental companies (such as Kitty Hawk Kites) for a fun time exploring the ocean or the sound.
Jennette's Pier
A lovely spot on the Atlantic Ocean for fishing, walking on the pier, or playing on the beach. Jeanette’s Pier is owned by the North Carolina Aquariums and has some fun exhibits inside. Plus there’s free parking!
Bodie Island Lighthouse
The Outer Banks are known for the lighthouses. The Bodie Island Lighthouse is the closest of the iconic options and open for the public to tour inside.
Roanoke Marshes Lighthouse
A small lighthouse on the Roanoke Sound very close to our venue. There are some fun historic exhibits inside that you can visit during the day. While you are at it, take some time to explore beautiful downtown Manteo.
Professor Hacker's Lost Treasure Golf
If mini golf is more your style, you have many options to choose from at the Outer Banks. If you are up for a bit of a drive, our absolute favorite mini golf spot is Professor Hacker's Lost Treasure Golf.
Mutiny Bay Adventure Golf
If you want great mini golf but don't want to drive too far, Mutiny Bay Adventure Golf is the best option close to our venue.
Jockey's Ridge State Park
This state park is home to the tallest sand dunes on the Atlantic Coast. Explore the dunes, visit the museum at the visitor’s center, hike the wetland nature trail, and even take a hang gliding lesson.
Wright Brothers National Memorial
There are many wonderful and interesting museums in the area, but the Wright Brothers National Memorial is a must-see if you are interested in the history of flight.
Nags Head Golf Links
An 18-hole Scottish-style championship golf course designed by Bob Moore.
Sea Scape Golf Links
An 18-hole championship golf course designed by former PGA tour player and Masters Champion Art Wall.
OBX Ghost Tours
If you want something fun and different on Friday night, consider a walking ghost tour of Manteo and learn about the history of the Outer Banks including shipwrecks, pirates, and a whole colony of people who just disappeared. This is one of Amelia's favorites and is very close to our venue.
Corolla Wild Horse Tours
This spot is a bit of a hike from our venue (ok, more than a bit), but if you have time, we highly recommend seeing the famous wild horses in Corolla on the northern end of the Outer Banks.
