We love your kids, but due to liability concerns with the venue, we kindly request that little ones stay home. We want you to be able to relax, enjoy yourself, and celebrate with us long into the night.
Unfortunately, due to space restrictions at our venue, we are capped at a limited number of guests. Please only bring those who are listed on your invitation and the corresponding RSVP page.
Yes, for the health and safety of our guests, we ask that all wedding attendees be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
You can find an "RSVP" section on this website. It should be located to the far right of the top menu for desktop and at the bottom of the drop-down menu for mobile. Please RSVP to any of the wedding-related events through that webpage.
The ceremony will begin at 6pm. You may arrive at the aquarium as early as 5:30pm.
Yes! There is a large parking lot at the aquarium, so there will be more than enough parking. Parking is free. Please keep in mind that any cars left in the lot overnight will be towed in the morning, so make plans to get to the venue accordingly if you do not think you will be able to drive after the wedding.
We will be having a buffet dinner with a variety of food options, and we want to accommodate any dietary restrictions. When you RSVP on this website, there will be a place for you to list any dietary restrictions so we can plan accordingly with our caterer.
Yes, we will have beer, wine, and Champaign. Liquor is prohibited on the premises (and yes, security will be making sure we follow this rule). Please do not bring a flask.
The ceremony will be outside on the aquarium's covered pier overlooking the sound (weather permitting). Although we expect a relatively short ceremony, please keep in mind that the weather at the Outer Banks in June is often in the high-70s to mid-80s and quite humid. Following the ceremony, the reception will take place inside the aquarium.
Yes! You will be able to see the entire aquarium except the STAR Sea Turtle Rehabilitation Center and the gift shop, which are both closed at night. During cocktail hour, you will be able to wander around the exhibits with your food and drinks. Stop by the touch tanks to pet stingrays and other marine life. Dinner will be in front of the shark tank, and the dancing will take place in the room with the jellyfish.
The NC Aquarium on Roanoke Island is one of three aquariums owned by the state of North Carolina. The aquarium focuses on promoting public education and aquatic conservation, and has exhibits highlighting both freshwater and marine life in North Carolina. It also is home to the Sea Turtle Assistance and Rehabilitation (STAR) Center, a center that rescues and treats sick and injured sea turtles, rehabilitates them, and releases them back into the wild. Though the aquarium is on the smaller side, it has a lot to offer visitors. If you would like to learn more and see what specific exhibits are available, please go to the “Things to Do” tab for a link to the aquarium’s website.
