Twyla and Micah first met at a worship event they were involved in during undergrad at Virginia Tech. Their paths never crossed again during the undergrad season, but one of them (we'll never know exactly who) followed the other on Instagram... The two of them went on living their lives apart. Micah eventually graduated and moved to Fairfax, Virginia to start work, while Twyla graduated and then started medical school at VCOM in Blacksburg, Virginia. Micah and Twyla would loosely keep up through Instagram stories, the first one where Micah responded to Twyla's west coast road trip (you know how it is). Eventually, one story reply from Twyla sparked a good conversation in the DM's (direct messaging). Micah, knowing he'd be a fool to pass on this chance, asked Twyla out to coffee. The pair met for coffee at the soonest availability, and both quickly realized that this could be the start of something that could last. The first 6 months of long distance included picking up Micah's German Shepherd, synchronized movie watching, and multiple Facetime cooking dates. Fortunately, that distance was closed when Twyla moved back near home to Northern Virginia for her clinical years soon after. After 18 months of a growing relationship in deeper friendship and love, taking the next step in engagement seemed only natural. We are getting married!! We have seen how the Lord has been gracious and has guided us, working out timing for the best and aligning our compatibility. We are also thankful for family and friends that have walked alongside us and offered words of wisdom and encouragement.
