Waterfront Park has a special place in our hearts for its role during our first date and the day of our engagement. It's the perfect place to take a rest after walking through the Market downtown. Enjoy the swings or sitting by the pineapple fountain.
We love exploring national parks on our travels, so it is quite the treat to have one in our own backyard! Take the ferry ride from Liberty Square or Patriot's Point out to Fort Sumter and learn about the history of Civil War era Charleston. Don't forget to stamp your national park passport!
One of our favorite day trips! Firefly Winery and Distillery: Home of the Firefly label spirits, this working farm and vineyard offers wine and spirit tastings throughout the day with open access to their sprawling field of grape vines. Visit with their assortment of goats, pigs, chickens and cows as you take in the fresh air and good drinks. http://fireflyspirits.com/ Charleston Tea Plantation: America’s only working tea garden hosts acres of tea plants lovingly curated over many decades. Ride aboard renovated street trolleys around the farm and learn about the day to day workings of growing tea. Then enjoy bottomless samples of all varieties of their cold and hot brewed teas after touring their drying and packaging facility. https://www.charlestonteaplantation.com/ Angel Oak: The iconic tree of Charleston. This massive, centuries old live oak is free to access and appreciate. You certainly won’t regret this pit-stop. https://www.angeloaktree.com/
