Getting There

The Wedding Website of Trish Albano and Perry Diaz
You're going to Belize - how exciting! Our wedding is in San Pedro Town, which is on the island of Ambergris Caye (hot tip: it's pronounced KEY). Traveling to Belize is very easy. We have listed our recommended travel options below, but feel free to do your own research.

Hotel

Mahogany Bay Resort & Beach Club, Curio Collection by Hilton

Sea Grape Drive, San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, Belize
 011-501-631-7481

This is where we will be having our ceremony and reception. Mahogany Bay offers different styles of accommodations that suit different size parties. On the property, there are restaurants, coffee shops, tour operators, and many other amenities. Mahogany Bay is a Hilton property; if you are a Hilton Honors member, you can use and earn points for your stay. Competitive rates are also offered through travel credit card portals like the Chase Ultimate Rewards travel portal and Capital One's Venture X travel portal. We also recommend checking other travel websites like Expedia, AAA, or Hotels.com to make sure you are getting the best rate available to you. Melina Guerrero from the Mahogany Bay Reservations Team (martha@mahoganybayresort.com) can help you with any questions you have related to Mahogany Bay Village or the town of San Pedro to include local travel, food, and activity recommendations (e.g. golf cart rentals, snorkel tours, diving, ferries, fishing, and domestic flights).

Flight

Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport (BZE)

The Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport (BZE) is the only international airport in Belize. The following airlines fly to Belize from the United States: Alaska American Delta Frontier Southwest Sun Country United The flight is less than two hours directly from South Florida, four hours directly from the New York metropolitan area, and 2-3 hours directly from DFW or IAH in Texas.

Flight

Tropic Air

To get to San Pedro, the most efficient option is a commuter flight from either the Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport (BZE) or the Belize City Municipal Airport (TZA). The flights to San Pedro are about 15 minutes long and make multiple stops at islands along the way. Pay attention to your captain to make sure you get off in San Pedro at the John Greif II Airport (SPR). You can also use Maya Island Air (https://www.mayaislandair.com), but Tropic Air is the most commonly used option from Belize City to San Pedro.

Rental Car

Aviz Golf Cart Rental

Coconut Drive - Across the street from Tropic Air, San Pedro, Belize
 5016275257

The most common way to get around San Pedro is by golf cart. There are many golf cart rental options on the island so please review your options carefully. You can use the code "Perry Wedding 2025" to get 10% off when booking through Aviz (this is not the same as the American car rental company, Avis). Mahogany Bay Village also rents golf carts directly from their property. Mahogany Bay Village is located on the south western side of the island, approximately 1.5 miles from downtown San Pedro. If you don't plan to walk or cycle that far, you should probably rent a golf cart. You do *not* need to rent a golf cart if you don't plan to explore the island. Mahogany Bay Village offers a shuttle service from the air strip/pier to the resort. You do need to arrange this ahead of time.

Travel Note

Ferry

You can also take a water taxi from Belize City to San Pedro. The boat ride is about an hour and a half long and you can use any of the following boat operators: San Pedro Belize Express (https://belizewatertaxi.com), Carribbean Sprinter (https://sprinter.bz), or San Pedro Water Jets Express (https://www.sanpedrowatertaxi.com). You can buy tickets online in advance (recommended) or can buy them at the Ferry Terminal (111 North Front Street, Belize City). Listen to your captain and be sure to get off in San Pedro, otherwise you may end up in Mexico!

Travel Note

Getting Around Town

For those of you that want to use the municipal airport to fly to San Pedro or get to the water taxi terminal, taxis are the best way to go. Taxis in Belize are easy to use, cheap, and safe. They usually only take cash (you can use US dollars) and the taxi drivers work with tourists every single day.
