Great laid-back restaurant featuring a rotating menu of seasonal local ingredients & wines; good for lunch or dinner.
Located in Los Alamos, which is a bit further away than other Santa Ynez Valley towns, but SO worth the drive. The best fine dining in Santa Barbara County (amazing lunch menu as well). Excellent service, perfected "Franch" cuisine, and stellar wine list.
Solvang can be a little overwhelming, but we will bear the Disneyland-esque scene and crowds for a meal at Peasants Feast. Their food is also excellent to go. Try the mushroom tacos and the brisket sandwich.
This is a favorite of Los Angeles visitors (their original location is in Los Alamos). Bob's got an attitude, but he's earned it with this kind of bread and pastry skill. We love the ricotta toast and the ham, cheese, and butter baguette sandwich. Only open for breakfast and lunch.
Estate vineyard in Santa Maria.
Not the best wine in Santa Barbara County, but we LOVE the grounds. Great picnic tables to enjoy a Tuscan-like setting. You can bring food in to enjoy with your wine.
If you're in Los Alamos, you should make a stop at Lo-Fi. Mike, the winemaker, is a friend of Tripp's, and one of our favorite wine producers in town.
Locals love the Stolpman family, and we love their Sangiovese.
A solid tasting experience, recommended by industry folks and your every-day tourist.
Nicer restaurant with hip menu and well-executed, but laid-back dishes.
