Travel Note

Ferry to Whidbey Island

From Seattle, drive north an hour to Mukilteo (I-5 north to 525) to board the ferry. The ferry ride takes about 20 minutes, then you'll get off in Clinton and drive about 15 minutes north along the island to get to the house at 5443 Bayview Rd in Langley. Please note that the ferry lines can get pretty backed up on the weekend and could be as long 2 hours or more, so leave yourself plenty of time to get to the island! If the ferry wait time is longer than 1.5 hours, it's faster to take the long, scenic route and skip the ferry: stay on I-5 north to Mt Vernon then take Hwy 20 west to cross over Deception Pass bridge to reach the island, then travel south past Oak Harbor to get to Langley. This route takes approximately 2.5 hours total to get from Seattle to the house. Ferry schedule at the link above. Ferries leave Mukilteo for Clinton approximately every hour. Places to Stay

We recommend booking your lodging well in advance, as accommodations on Whidbey Island can book up early for popular weekends. There aren't any large hotels on the island (so no room block available), more so smaller inns, motels, bed and breakfasts, cottages, and vacation rentals like Airbnb and Vrbo. We've listed some options below (not an exhaustive list) to look into. You may have to check several locations to find one that's available, as most are quite small. Many of these options also have a 2 night minimum during peak season.
