Question

WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE FOR YOUR WEDDING?

Answer

The recommended attire for our Welcome Party is cocktail. This event will take place in a grassy outdoor space, so plan footwear accordingly! The recommended attire for our wedding is summer formal. This event will also take place outdoors but will be primarily located under a tent with hardwood floors. For our farewell brunch, please wear whatever makes you comfortable and happy!

Question

Do you have a gift registry?

Answer

We are grateful that you are coming to celebrate with us—and that's truly all we need! If you would like to offer something in addition to your presence, please consider making a charitable contribution in our honor to one of the organizations we’ve listed on our “Registry” page. Thank you!

Question

Will there be transportation to the welcome reception, ceremony, and wedding reception?

Answer

Yes, we have arranged for shuttles to take guests from Hotel Saranac, Saranac Waterfront Lodge, Dancing Waters, and Lake Placid Lodge to and from the festivities on Friday and Saturday. Friday: Shuttles will depart from the Saranac Waterfront Lodge, Hotel Saranac and Lake Placid Lodge at 4:15 p.m. The reception concludes at 8:00 p.m. and shuttles will take guests back to their hotels. Shuttles will be available to return guests before 8:00 p.m. as needed. Saturday: Shuttles will depart for the church from Saranac Waterfront Lodge, Hotel Saranac, Dancing Waters and Lake Placid Lodge at 2:15 p.m. and will then take guests from the church to Dancing Waters for the Reception. Shuttles will run continuously throughout the evening with the last shuttle run at 11:15 p.m. For those who will be driving to Dancing Waters (686 Bartlett Carry Rd., Tupper Lake NY) please note Bartlett Carry is a one-way, dirt road. Once you turn off of Highway 3 onto Bartlett Carry, please turn on your lights and respect the 20mph speed limit. Keep left at the forks in the road towards number 686 and the name GOSNELL, to arrive at my mother’s house—we can’t wait to see you there! You will be directed towards parking on arrival.

Question

Can I take photos at the ceremony?

Answer

We are having a "unplugged" service, which means that we kindly ask that all cell phones be turned off or set on silent so that all guests can be fully present to celebrate this meaningful moment with us. We have hired professional photographers who will document the occasion. After the service, feel free to take as many photos as you like!

Question

What other important things do I need to know?

Answer

Please note that this weekend is the Lake Placid Ironman, which will affect departures on Sunday, during the event. There will be road closures on routes 86, 73 and 9N East of Lake Placid. If you are driving towards Albany, plan to drive through Tupper Lake to avoid closures in Lake Placid. If you are driving towards Plattsburgh or Burlington Airport, plan to take route 3 out of Saranac and drive north from there again, avoiding Lake Placid and to the east. For more information, Google “Lake Placid Ironman Road Closures.”

Question

Are children invited to the wedding?

Answer

Absolutely. We are so excited to celebrate this special moment with your whole family! A few additional notes: —Transportation: Our shuttles are compatible with car seats, but families will need to provide and install them individually if they plan to utilize the shuttle service. We have been told by the transportation company that car seats are a bit challenging to install on the shuttles, but it is possible. Booster seats are easier. —Water Safety: Since our venue is right on the dock and at the water’s edge, please consider bringing a children’s life jacket for your little one if that would provide an additional sense of safety. —Flower People: If your child would feel comfortable walking down the aisle and enjoy throwing flower petals, we’d love to have them as a flower person! Please let us know, so we can have enough baskets and petals for them to be part of our big day! —Childcare: During our wedding reception, we will provide childcare on-site for any parents who may want some extra support. Please let us know if your child has any particular needs that we can accommodate.

Question

Are there other events during the wedding weekend?
