Ellen moved to Colorado in March 2017, and a close friend graciously let her stay at their place for a few months. Unbeknownst to Ellen, her friend's roommate was Traci, and their friendship quickly began to bloom. Sharing a love for many of the same activities, Ellen and Traci spent a lot of time together and soon realized that their connection went beyond friendship.

As Traci and Ellen grew closer, they built a life together in Denver, surrounded by friends and the beauty of the mountains. They share a love for skiing and snowboarding, going on doggie playdates, cheering (sometimes not so happily) for Minnesota sports teams, and cooking meals together. They have loved being able to share the city they call home with loved ones visiting from near and far.

While Ellen thoroughly enjoyed her time as a throuple with Luke and Hanna, it was time for them to cut the cord. Ellen and Traci moved into an apartment together in the City Park neighborhood of Denver. They absolutely loved living so close to so many friends - two of which were even within a block of them! After over 2 years of apartment life, they were ready to get their dogs a yard. In April of 2024 they purchased their first home together in Denver -- cue the house projects!

Traci and Ellen share a passion for traveling! Their first adventure together was a camping road trip through New Mexico and Colorado, which brought them to Taos—so returning here for their wedding is especially meaningful. Together, they’ve explored 12 states and 6 countries, with plans to visit many more. Some of their favorite experiences include paragliding in Turkiye, swimming with wild dolphins in Mauritius, hot air ballooning in Cappadocia, road-tripping through Albania, and visiting friends and family across the U.S.

On August 2nd, Traci had carefully planned the proposal with the help of Ellen's dog, Betty. She placed a special dog tag on Betty and waited (very patiently) for Ellen to notice. It took nearly 24 hours, but Ellen eventually spotted something different about Betty. But the surprises weren’t over. On January 25th, 2025, while on a ski trip with friends, Ellen turned the tables and proposed back to Traci on top of a mountain. In true adventurous fashion, she made sure their love story had yet another unforgettable chapter—one filled with breathtaking views, snow-covered peaks, and the perfect surprise. The rest, as they say, is history—or maybe we should call it herstory!
